Riots and Senators Skipping Trump's Inauguration

Featured Replies

People rioted and senators are skipping Trump's inauguration because they think he's hateful and will divide this country.

So, to protest that they "think" Trump will divide the nation, they're going to do all this and divide it first?

Is that as stupid as it sounds or is there something I'm missing?

No

It's stupid to do what they are doing.

On a side note, the Choir from one of the local middle schools here is in DC and has performed a couple of times this week. I know everyone here is just pray for a safe trip for them and that none of the craziness gets to them.

Do they have to go?

I don't see the outrage. If I were being inaugurated I could care less if Mitch or Ted Cruz were there.

I agree, this isn't that big of a deal. In the end I think it looks worse on those making it all about themselves and making a big deal about not going. But in the greater sense it doesn't matter...just makes more room for those that want to be there.

Quite a few Dems did not attend Lincolns inauguration either.. Can anyone guess why ??

Point is that everyone against Trump is saying that he'll divide the country but they're dividing it further by protesting him.

United We Stand, Divided We Fall.......... I feel like I've heard that somewhere, but it might have been one of the many voices in my head.

That didn't work out so well. What is that saying about those that don't remember history....

The police are showing way too much restraint in dealing with violent demonstrators. Officers should be allowed to respond to rioters hurling bricks and chunks of concrete at them with tear gas and water canons. I hope that a large number of the violent protesters spend a few nights in a DC jail, but I am afraid that they will escape unscathed and free.

Just attacked a journalist.
