It would. All of it hinges on constraints on Pharm and oversight on insurance premiums (which should include annual bumps for those who never filed the first claim). Without regulation of the industry as a whole, it doesn't matter. I have a feeling that Trump will also want to regulate those on medicaid. Not sure how, but there's lots and lots of fat to be trimmed there. I imagine illegals on that dime will be targeted, and should be frankly. Many ways to move moneys around and streamline the process that does and should insure the neediest of us. It's the freeloaders who will likely be out of luck and off the draw.

 

In an ideal situation, companies could operate in a more competitive market and offer you something affordable as compared to the giants who have always controlled the industry.

They could lower the percentage of health costs that insurers have to cover to allow catastrophic care plans.

 

This is something offered in the past that could greatly reduce the cost for the younger and healthy crowd. I'm not sure they can bring the price back down enough to make a difference. Just a few years ago a plan like that could be had for $80-$100 for the 20-30 age ground. This is the type of plan most of those people are looking for.

 

Putting the burdon on the states is an interesting idea, but I'm not sure I trust those in charge of Kentucky. :eyeonyou:

 

A lot of that doesn't seem realistic to implement in such a short time period. Go back to underwriting and subsidize the high risk pool. Done and done.

 

The All-payer rate setting is interesting. I don't know a ton about it.

Then why not investigate and eliminate both? I have zero issue with providers that knowingly defraud the system being prosecuted. I would argue that the 2000+ pages of ObamaCare and it's myriad regulations make it far more likely that there will be errors made (both intentional and mistakenly) on the administrative side then if the bill was simplified.

They may not have done a tracking poll, but their survey results did show margins based on responses. The last one released, less than a month out from the election, shows Hillary winning by a 63-34 margin among all voters surveyed. So just a tad off...
