Wow I was not that impressed with SL when they played Highlands earlier this season,

After this and Fern Creek getting blown out by Hopkinsville I'm interested to see how the top 5 will look next week.

If you wasn't impressed with the Highlands game you should seen Boone County game the next day. It wasn't a pretty road trip for the cardinals. Very little energy and effort. Great win tonite though. South has been playing well of late. I thought both teams played well on defensive end. Neither so much on offense.

Covington Catholic is not like past teams. CVH is supposed to be going D1 and he doesn't even look to shoot. He has to score for them. I think Corbin or LCA would have beat Covington tonight.

Covington will be just fine.

SL is a good young team but they didn't look like CovCath beaters when I saw them. Congrats to the Cardinals for the big home victory.

Have to admit I am surprised by this quite a bit. I know teams have guys missing this time of year and the Colonels are as deep as anyone. Are they missing Frederick that much? Not saying they win with him. I just need to know how does this effect their play. What does CCH have to differently to beat good solid teams like SL?

South is a well coached team. They don't make many mistakes. I have followed Covington cath ever since cole was in 8th grade and played aau for derby state. He good player but seemed to not take over like I thought he might try too.

CVH is not supposed to be going D1. He is committed D2. And, yes, I'd say they miss CJF. Who wouldn't miss a kid like that!

 

I think CCH will be just fine. One of the best coaches in the state, and roster is packed.

 

This said, I know Davis does a great job at SL! Heck of a coach as well.
