How many other students get a choice of mascot?

It's fairly common practice to seek input on mascots and colors when opening a new school. This can be from students, parents, teachers, etc.

 

Who do you think should get to choose?

I think there's a really good chance they would have come out with something much more satisfying and interesting in the first place had they involved students from the get-go. I guess the difficulty they run into is the fact that they don't have an assembled body of students as of yet.

It would be a little more difficult to get that input, but there is an area that they are drawing students from. Surely there are multiple planning meetings occurring, seeking community input.

How about mountain oysters? Or leather nutsacks? It's a good thing I'm not in an official position to answer the petition.

Maybe they just need to move away from the horse theme.

I know he wasn't in Lexington; raced at Keeneland, so I guess that counts? Plus the fact that he's a male, so that throws it out the window...but, I'd be changing their colors to Crimson and go w/ "Big Red" after Secretariat.

 

He retired in Paris at Calumet, right? If I'm Bourbon County; I'm changing then if FDHS doesn't.

Maybe they were going to line up Sylvester Stallone for the commemoration.

 

Not one for being overly sensitive to being PC but the name does seem to miss the boat, even if it does not jump out immediately or appear obvious at first.

What about the Bronies.

 

Middle,school teams can be my little ponies.

 

Can be rainbow colored.

That way it's hits unisex, and about every other thing you can think of.

I've been looking at horse breed names. Some of these just roll off the tongue, but unfortunately have no local or regional connection.
