January 2, 20179 yr Good. @AdamSchefter 49ers officially have informed Chip Kelly he no longer is their coach, per source.
January 2, 20179 yr The 49ers were idiots to ever basically force Jim Harbaugh out. If him and the GM weren't getting along then they should have fired the GM.
January 2, 20179 yr Wholeheartedly agree that San Francisco made this situation by pushing Harbaugh out. I think Kelly got a raw deal here, but still not all that sorry. He wrecked Philly and he proved he belongs in college.

If him and the GM weren't getting along then they should have fired the GM.They made a mistake, but Harbaugh tends to overstay his welcome. The antics are great and all until you start losing. If he doesn't start beating OSU his antics will wear them up in AA too. The recruiting stuff he does is quirky and weird and I'll make fun of him for it, but recruits eat that crap up so I can't blame him for that. But it's the stupid stuff like the temper tantrums on the sideline or calling both timeouts with 12 seconds left in the Orange Bowl the other night. He's a good football coach without that stuff. SF still was stupid for forcing him out. You don't force out success like that.
January 2, 20179 yr I am by no means a Chip Kelly apologist, but he didn't even get a chance in San Fran. How much is he going to get paid to not work in San Fran? Think he'd ever admit that he regrets leaving Oregon?

Think he'd ever admit that he regrets leaving Oregon? There's going to be some dispute as to who and how much Kelly will get paid, since he's still collecting a buyout from the Eagles. As far as Oregon, remember, Oregon was sanctioned shortly after Kelly left. There are thoughts that he left Oregon because he had to, not necessarily because he wanted to.

January 3, 20179 yr Kelly is a real good college coach. He needs to go back to college. There are several schools that wish this would have happened a month ago.
January 3, 20179 yr I am not as convinced as others that Kelly is going to excel at a top flight University. Oregon is unique because he was able to recruit under the radar guys and get them into his system. He has stated that is ideal job is Navy and he misses his time in New Hampshire. Kelly is an odd duck.
