Might be an opportunity for someone like Mulder to help with knocking down a few outside shots and losses up the lane a bit?

Not a fan of the timing of this game, But Cats by 10.

Officials for tonight's game are:

Roger Ayers (we all know Rog)

Ron Groover (mainly works SEC/ACC)

Jamie Luckie (without a doubt, my least favorite official in the country).

Cards need to thread a needle here. They need to score in transition but force UK into a halfcourt game. Cards lose a "run n gun" matchup like the UK v. UNC game because it takes away their biggest asset - defense. Cards lose a halfcourt game because their offense is so constipated that they rarely get good shots and often don't knock down the good shots they get.

Home court advantage & emotion will help. UK young players reacting to a hostile environment COULD help (never know). Suspect we'll see more matchup zone from Pitino than we've seen so far this season. That zone will sag off of Briscoe and, to some extent, Fox to help on the other superstars. If they hit shots like Hawkins last year, it will be a long night.

If both teams play their best, UK wins by 10+. If I was in Vegas, I'd see what a teaser of UK -10 would pay and play it if the odds were right.

I'm considering a bet on UK. That's how I feel about this game.

I'm the opposite Deuce -- I think the Cats are far more talented but the timing of this contest combined with the down right stupid line I saw yesterday ( if accurate ) of UL - 1 makes me think this is a game Vegas is going to get rich on . Everyone will play UK plus points in this game and we all know everyone doesnt win in Vegas . Just dont think coming off a west coast road trip , huge emotional win , short turn around time , that the UK boys will be able to match UL's energy and emotion. Thats my take .

I have watched UofL multiple times this season. I see no way they can score efficiently enough throughout to win. UK will apply too much ball pressure and UofL is long in the post, but incredibly offensively challenged there as a group.

UK once again has all the McDonalds All Americans and facing a team that can"t shoot and score points......right? Watch a true Coach take this game and make it interesting if not win with this under talented squad....Pitino is so much better than Cal in this situation or any other situation as far as that goes....

Pitino is 1-8 vs. Cal since he's been at Kentucky, but yeah, he's so much better. :lol2:

Down right dominant ! Lol Nikeman.

Cal sure isnt any great in game manager but he has smacked Ricky around like a ? Lil Brother ? LOL

Nikeman struggles a little bit with predictions. Well he doesn't struggle making them... he just struggles being right.

Heels 86 Cats 74

Football:

Cards 64 Cats 10

Missou 35 Cats 23

Miss State 34 Cats 17

Vand 31 Cats 27

Tide 66 Cats 0

New Mexico State 27 Cats 24

Anyone see a pattern?

Kudos nikeman for getting the Alabama over Kentucky game right. That took some real insight.

And you forgot to mention that Cal has a lopsided winning record over Rick in the UK-UL series.

I'm not sure what the All time win-loss record is between the two dating back to when they coached at other schools. I'm sure Cal did well in those, too. He had some great teams at Memphis.

True. Here is hoping the blind squirrel doesn't locate the nut tonight. :D

Exactly my thoughts.
