Richard Sherman's take on Thursday games

Featured Replies

Richard Sherman on Thursday night games: "Poopfest, it's terrible. We got home like 1 o'clock in the morning, something like that on Monday, and then you've got to play again. Congratulations, NFL, you did it again. But they've been doing it all season, so I guess we're the last ones to get the middle finger."

Seattle always leads the league in frequent flyer mileage. Scheduling them three days after traveling 5,200 miles is a terrible decision.

Thursday Night games are a waste IMO. They are rarely any good.

Did you hear one of the reporters ask if he said "hoop fest"? Dude I was in tears :lol2:

The product on Thursday nights is rarely good, but as long as people keep watching, they'll continue to have games.

The tv deal for Thursday games runs for another season, then after that the league is said to be weighing other options. I know people love to cite "declining ratings", but the reality is the ratings are still top shelf, not in the gutter. The all mighty dollar generally wins.

If this is an issue the players are genuinely concerned about, I hope they do something about it next go-around at the negotiation table.

Thursday nights are for college football.

If they want to keep Thursday night games, the answer is easy (in my opinion). Schedule Thursday night games ONLY for teams coming off a bye week. Problem pretty much solved.

My thoughts exactly BigV.

I love NFL but rarely watch the Thursday games unless its Thanksgiving of course.. Would rather them go back to old days that when college ended there were always a couple of games on Saturdays....

Probably hard to do when you are already doing the same for London teams.

Dolphins vs. Jets this Saturday.

You actually kind of prove my point...they already do it for teams traveling to London, so they can absolutely do it for Thursday night matchups too. Sure it adds a layer of difficulty for the schedulers, but it's not like it CAN'T be done. And it probably greatly improves the quality of the football as well.
