SK has a great coach in Coach Stowers and players want to be successful and they think that they can do that with him and the team.

 

All the players that I mentioned have lived in Kenton County prior to ever thinking about playing basketball for SK. Also if you want to get technical Niece lived on the border of the SK and Scott line soooo lets just stop that right now

why didn't you mention your head coaching during the game walked on the floor in front of the NCC bench guess you missed that or didn't want to tell the whole truth.

Love Gilliam's heart and defense, been a starter (2) years and now a sub, I hate it for her as she has won a region with Simon as a starter. One of the reasons why I hate new kids arriving, unfair to the ones who have sacrificed, she will be fine because she is a great kid and teammate

I guess so cause we all know that you have so much room to walk behind the benches at SK so should the SK people get angry when the visiting teams fans walk in front of their bench to find a seat, or walk on the floor in front of the table.

Not sure where the confusion is with this issue. Three top playing starters played VARSITY basketball at another school before CHOOSING Simon Kenton. Heck, Harney was literally shopping schools this summer. I'm a fan of SK getting better but the unfortunate consequence is players who have always been in SKs system get bumped down another notch. Gilliam (see above post) being the most recent unfortunate one. Besides the players that stay in the starting lineup it's understandable that others would feel disappointed in some ways with this. It's certainly understandable that people looking from the outside in would make judgements. But in the end SK will have two years of strong runs at the state tourney. And months from now that's all people will be talking about

There's nothing wrong with what's going on with all this. And yes I would guess Martin considered her options with schools to attend. Don't think RCC9 would disagree either. Again nothing illegal or wrong even. As stated it just has unfortunate consequences though for some.

No offense to me at all. I didn't do it! But I do know they didn't recruit her. And I do know that you'd be hard pressed to find hardly ANY others that have transferred in recent history. And that's with the education you get there. So I'm not concerned with HHS because it's not a trend there. And I could actually care less about SK...unless the shopping is not on the kids side. Meaning the shopping of the program is being done and that's what is drwasing them. I have nothing to base that on at SK, but for me, that's when it crosses the line.

 

As for Stowers being a great coach and drawing kids because of that...what is the attraction? (For the record, have nothing against him. Don't know him or see his teams enough to pass judgment. Just go off hearsay) So this is just a question. Plug any ne in ya want! What has he done to attract talent that other great coaches at several other schools haven't? I mean unless you've won a state championships and multiple regions recently, what makes one better than the other and attracts the players? Serious question. I heard this after HC won the state and now nothing. So what is it?

So now the discussion of this thread has moved to transfers.

 

Here is my two cents that I have stated many many times on here: Who cares if a young athlete wants to transfer to a "certain school"? If transferring makes them happy so be it as they have a very limited time to play high school sports.
