What has the series been lately? NCC has had some pretty good teams. Any bad blood there? Seems like there wouldn't be a reason to run up a score between these 2 teams?

As far as I know there is know bad blood.

I attended the game, Simon has a very good team and NCC couldn't make anything not that it would have changed the out come of the game because Simon was the better team.

I was very disappointed in the coaching staff at Simon from the JV to the varsity. Simon clearly was going win the game and had starters in and pressing in the 4th quarter and yes I know its not grade school but to clearly embarrass a team like that IMO is ridiculous.

SK lost the game before just maybe they are working on things.

Really, again for 3 1/2 quarters, if you say so.

Was at the game. SK subbed in JV players throughout the entire game starting in the first quarter. Varsity players work hard at practice and want to play. JV had their game already.

Dare I use the word "karma"? Why is it that a few years back when NCC , beat SK by 22 ....behind Nikki Kiernans 36, no one judged Stoll and the Breds? She did play most of the game when it was clear they had the win wrapped up! Wheres the difference? Don't think there is any bad blood, but coaches remember things like that! Just saying

No difference?? 22 vs 40??? and still pressing late in the game? Was NCC pressing late in the game in your example?. If they weren't, that's a huge difference! It's a huge difference even if they were. And was stoll even the coach when Kiernan played? I really don't remember.

I clearly wasn't there, but so far it looks like it was meant for something selfish on the SK side. And even you aren't denying it. Just trying to justify it.

Missed this one before my other post hit. If this is the case, then no issues here.

But lets be clear on what JV players are. Some schools play their varsity 7, 8, and 9 on JV. Yes, they are JV players, but they are really varsity kids at that point. So were they JV players or just the varsity subs that play JV? Were the kids you are calling JV players the kids that typically don't get minutes in the varsity game? Those are true JV players in basketball.

Stoll was the head coach when Kiernan was a Junior.

NCC did not press at all.

The 5 starters for SK were the only ones that didn't play JV.

They started to sub in the 2nd quarter but always had 2-3 starters in the game.

You can justify it all you want, it was wrong.

I remember last year everyone complaining about Holmes running up the score on opponents and keeping there starters in and pressing to me SK is no different and both are wrong.

SK has a very good team and will be beating teams like that in NKY all year but hope the staff remembers that coaches don't forget.

The JV game was a joke, the SK coach actually came out on the floor about 8' right at the ref and didn't not get anything then the varsity coach came out on the floor and put his hand up to the ref, I was embarrassed for them. Then a few minutes later the ball was on the opposite end of the NCC bench when the SK's head coach walked on the floor passing the NCC JV coach and their bench instead of going behind the benches like everyone else, that blew me away.

Maybe everybody should have gotten a trophy as was so nicely put by Jeff Walz.

Give me a break, I not once said call it off and half. I am not that guy that thinks everyone should get a trophy but it was wrong period.

Well I wasn't there, but if the poster above is considering kids "JV kids" just because they aren't top 5, and those are the JV kids that were in the game, I personally don't consider them JV kids. Those are still varsity kids. To me, to be labeled "JV kids" for this context, you are talking about the kids that don't contribute significant varsity minutes. Up 40, that's who I would think would be in the game and not pressing.

So I'll go with...Unless there was an agreement between coaches to work on things, this smells a little nasty.

But I would ask the question...Why? Why would they do this to NCC? I just don't understand that. I know SK has a tendency to play kids down or move kids down, but I don't think I've seen or heard of them intentionally running up the score before.

So I know when I've been on the side of a team I'm associated with running up the score, I've been embarrassed and spoke out about it. Was there anyone on the SK side that felt that way that can provide insight? We really haven't heard too much from that side. Except trying to justify it.

Thought it cost them the region last year, beat Collins and Owen by 30 plus and Ally was still in those games, that long trip back to Simon and her legs were shot in the final

Maybe everybody should have gotten a trophy as was so nicely put by Jeff Walz.

SK was up 33-15 at half. I guess they should have just laid down then?

If this is true, you know there is a difference in everyone getting a trophy and embarrassing your opponent. Again, seems like a justification statement (or admission of guilt) rather than an explanation.

I have no beef with SK. I was all over Holmes a couple years ago for doing the same thing. You can insert whatever team name you want. When a team intentially try to degrade and embarrass another team, it will never be right in my book and I am the furthest thing away from "everyone gets a trophy!" ...See my All A Posts over the years! lol!

33-15 is an 18 point lead. Sounds like they left starters in and pressed midway thru the 4th. If that's the case, something smells.

So is or isn't that the case? That's what we really want to know from the SK fans. Were starters in the game pressing in the 4th qtr up more than lets say 25?

They still had starters in at the end of the game and the one was the leading scorer for them, so I would need someone to explain that to me.
