If U.K. Can't get ready for the triple option in a month then they never would be ready. If GT wins it will be because they are better.

Tough match up for UK's defense; they have to maintain gap integrity and play their responsibilities.

 

Looking at the numbers, GT's defense is not very good. If UK can continue their offensive performance, they could score on enough possessions to put GT in the hole, and as everyone knows when option teams are behind it's tough for them to catch up.

I think UK takes this one. They have the ability to score quickly, unlike GT, IMO. If UK is successful on offense, GT won't score enough points to win.

Tough matchup for both teams. It should be a dandy of a game. Kentucky must be disciplined defensively.

As is the case with most bowl games IMO, the team that has the greater motivation will win. In this game I think that is the University of Kentucky.

I think Kentucky pulls it out unless they are completely baffled by the option. Supposedly, DJ Eliot is a God at shutting down the triple option so maybe they will have it figured out.

It sounds like preparing to face this offense, and developing/refining the skills to stop it, could pay dividends for the future.

It is. 10,000% spot on.

 

Many high schools in our state do it when facing a triple option team (s).

 

Hell, I've known (and, know) high school teams that practice vs Scout Team O's that don't use a ball vs several styles at times (maybe not the entire week or entire defensive day, but for periods.)

 

Triple option or not, defensive football is about reading your keys and reacting...playing your assignment. That could be defending the triple option or pattern reading with your Secondary.
