Best player on Ohio State and best player on Alabama will ALWAYS be in the discussion at some point, regardless of how deserving they are. Or aren't, in this case.
November 27, 20169 yr Author LJ had a legitmate chance to break Troy Smiths record for largest percentage of first place votes. He won't come close to that now. But he will still win for 2 reasons: 1) His numbers are still gaudy 2) There is a clear lack of a second place guy, so the first place votes Lamar has lost will be split amongst Mayfield, Watson, Hurts, Pumphrey, Barrett, Cook, Peppers, etc.

I have no clue on the actual overall numbers but Barrett has been way to inconsistent this year. He could go on to win the title but at this point no way do I put him in New York. My top 3 right now 1. Jackson 2. Hurd 3. Cook

Hurts has been terrific, but I think Baker Mayfield has been better.

November 28, 20169 yr Jackson sat out at least part of SEVEN 4th Quarters this season. I realize that and for that matter Watson was taken out early in other games as well. Whether people like it, if it's right or not ....the team a player plays on, how that team does has a lot to do with it and probably more than it should. Watson imo has a better team, talent around him, Watson/Clemson beat UL/Jackson in Louisville as well. I'm not against Jackson at all, is just that I would take 1.Watson, 2. Jackson and the probably Barret(OSU), Hurt (Bama) followed by Peppers (UM) or Cook (FSU). Right now imo Jackson will still win the Heisman but it's a lot closer margin now than was a few weeks ago. Also depends on what / how much the voters take away from him due to the Houston, U.K. loses late season where he didn't look as good, especially vs. Houston.

November 28, 20169 yr People are confusing some things with the Heisman voting. Jackson, by his standards, has limped home in the Heisman race. But for him not to win the Heisman, he would have to lose first place votes. Who would have taken any substantive amount of votes from Jackson over the past month? Answer: nobody, because nobody has seized the opportunity. Hurts has not gotten the play that I thought he would get. I agree with the Mouth of the South in that people are kinda of Alabamaed out.
