Who do you think wins this game and why?

This has the making of a very good game. CovCath makes the drive down to Louisville to face a good offensive team. Colonels will need to play 4 solid quarters to win this one.

This should be a great game between two rock solid teams. I think the good guys pull away late 3rd/4th quarter with the final something like 42-28.

The Colonels have a well balanced attack offensively and defense have played well against some very good teams lately.

 

But the tough games start now and Fern Creek will win if we don't show up ready and make plays.

This will be a great game. I feel like Fern Creek has kind of been unnoticed and undervalued his year. They got to the semi-finals last year and were a tough out for sure. This years squad I thought was supposed to be down, but give the Tiges some credit as they have only lost at 6A Manual and at 2A Desales. Now the rest of their schedule are not world beaters but they have taken care of business and I'm sure Colonel nation took notice of the Dixie score last night.

 

The game being in Louisville is an advantage but not a huge one because CovCath has traveled well all season.

 

I expect CovCath to win this game, but I also expect similar to last nights BG/Christian County game for Fern Creek to play their best game come Friday night. I'm not sure the Tigers will have enough offense to get it done but it only takes a pick 6 here or there to make a big difference.

 

I'll be paying attention to this one for sure!

If Cov Cath can minimize the penalties, they win. Fern Creek is too good to give them freebies. The Colonels with be well coached and amped.

No doubt in my mind Coach Eviston & Co will be formulating a solid game plan this week to counter the Fern Creek strengths and take advantage of the few weaknesses they have. Yep, I kissed a few babies before last Tuesdays election.

 

I tell you that to tell you this...I haven't seen team speed, gang tackling, and flat out hard hitting like what I saw in Fridays Dixie-Fern Creek game since the 2014 Trinity-Dixie Heights State Championship game. The Tigers are very comfortable at home, talk it up, and walk the walk. For covcath to win they will have to prevent the big play. #'s 3,4, & 7 for the Tigers are dynamic and very fast athletes. If the blueboys can contain the big play capability of Fern Creek and break through the Tiger Red Zone D. They should win! Dixie moved the ball between the 20's throughout the game. However, could only break through in the 4th qrtr to score. Covcaths passing game and use of the TE and slot will be key.

 

And enjoy the DJ on the track. Really enjoyed the halftime music... :thumb:

CovCath will show Louisville and the rest of State not named BG that they are best team in State in 5A IMO! Again, this NKY district continues to dominate year after year at this stage of the playoffs. Another Refional Championship for 5A NKY! Blueboys win 35-14.

What time is the game on Friday? CCH website has 7pm and the KHSAA website has 7:30pm.

Both of these teams have Bowling Green's attention. Those of us in Bowling Green will be watching this one close as we cheer on the Purples Friday night against Owensboro.

I'm going with the Colonels. Just think they are on a roll and playing well. Just my gut. I think it will be a battle because of the FC run last year and home field.
