I'm about 99% sure that's correct. As far as I know Grant County is still a grass field.

If Cov Cath can minimize the penalties, they win. Fern Creek is too good to give them freebies. The Colonels with be well coached and amped.

Cov Cath had a struggle with penalties on Friday against Doss...which I'll admit, I think was slightly assisted by a somewhat flag-happy officiating crew. Cov Cath had 7 first half penalties, and Doss had 8. That HAS to get cleaned up by the Colonels at this point in the season.

I still haven't decided. I would have to Weasel my way out of a friendsgiving invite, and I've got to be in Bracken County before sunrise on Saturday.

CWB, I'm considering going to this game especially if it rains in BG. I think this should be an awesome game and I wouldn't have a 2 hour drive and get home the next day (and watch the BG game on video on Saturday).

My son and I will be going to watch and you know Pete will be there. We will be the ones in the press box with OC gear on, lol

I'm not quite as familiar with the Fern Creek neighborhood when it comes to restaurants, but if you can manage to get down this way a little earlier, the Highlands neighborhood is teeming with great restaurants. Bardstown Road runs right through the center of the Highlands, and Fern Creek is about 15 minutes down Bardstown Road from that area.

Bardstown Road runs right through the center of the Highlands, and Fern Creek is about 15 minutes down Bardstown Road from that area.

 

I am not a Fern Creek insider by any means, but I do know this: if you drive down Bardstown Road on Friday afternoon you better prepare for some traffic and dealing with a TON of traffic lights. So Rule #1 is know how much time you have; what type food goes along with that amount of time and correspond that to what time you want to show up to the game.

 

Now, CWB is correct about some awesome places to eat UP Bardstown Road, but IMO you will be driving into the teeth of the traffic.

 

My recommendation is this:

 

1. There are the following restaurants in the near vicinity of FCHS (between the Gene Synder I-265 and the road you turn off to go to Fern Creek High School):

 

Chick-Fil-A (It is the only 1 I will reference on the other side of I-265, but most like it, but you would have to go away from town, get food and then come back under I-265 to get to the stadium.

QDoba, McAlisters, Cracker Barrel (you see it right off I-265 @ Bardstown Road), Appleby's, Frisch's, HoneyBaked Ham, Mark's Feed Store, Bearno's Pizza, Raising Cane's (chicken fingers)

 

2. If you're coming in off I-71 and you drop down going south on I-265, the first exit (Brownsboro Road - US 22) has some Really good restaurants on both sides of the interstate, but at that time of day LOOK OUT as traffic will be a bear. I would also recommend the Shelbyville Road (US60 - the exit right before I-64) and go west as there are some good restaurants there too Panara, Salsarita (mexican), BW3's (a little further down), Chipoltle, Firehouse Subs, Blaze Pizza, Chick-fil-a, Texas Road House.
