KHSAA should be ashamed!

Featured Replies

All of these lopsided games in he 1st round. Teams losing money on travel, food and lost time out of school to travel hours to get a running clock before halftime(or even the 1st quarter). They need to step back and take a look on how to fix this issue. Obviously it's a case of the haves and the have-nots. Also they need to answer for why 6A has a whole different playoff assignment than the rest of the state. 8 teams west of Louisville in 6A and only 1 won, the others were all running clocked. The 1 seed McCracken got beat by the 4 seed. Manual drove all the way to Henderson to get a running clock there. I'd like to see the travel cost and time of these teams. KHSAA should have to pay for the cost of travel for these teams. SMH

Sounds like the 6A teams west of the 'Ville need to get better.

The home team in the playoff game pay the visitors expenses. And with very little attendance last night at our game, we may have broke even. nobody goes to game to watch the game where you know it will be a running clock.

Need a 4 class system with only 5 teams in each class getting in playoffs with the 1 seed in each class getting a bye.

This would not require a 5 week playoff and would allow winners of each class to then faceoff for an overall state champion.

Will never happen but should

OMG, more complaints. Just let it go.

I've been part of HS sports for a long time. I woke up this morning knowing this thread was coming. It has every year since the KHSAA went to this format. Funny stuff

Overall 1 state champ playoff is a horrible idea. 1A school with 30 to 40 kids lining up against 100 kids on some teams?

I don't think he was saying there should only be 1 playoff bracket for all schools.

I didn't know the home teams pay for the visiting team's travel. How does that work? A mileage rate set by the state and a per hour rate for the driver set by the state

Average margin of victory per class after the 1st Round:

1A: 53-12

2A: 48-11

3A: 47-16

4A: 44-11

5A: 47-18

6A: 45-9

He wanted each class champ to playoff for one overall champ.

I think it's a flat mileage rate.

TheDeuce, good stuff. Suspect you already have in a spread sheet. If so, any chance to see the differences in 1 vs 4 games, and 2 vs 3 games?

No spread sheet, just did the math real quick. Didn't break it down based on seeds.

The KHSAA should be ashamed at a lot of things they do regarding football and especially basketball. You just have to learn to grin and bare it.

OMG, more complaints. Just let it go.

Don't think I've ever agreed with one of your posts more. New year same tired thread.
