  1. KHSAA is a joke as long as they continue to rotate districts in 6A. Have true region champions, quit protecting smaller schools in Louisville districts. Let District 1 and District 2 match up each year in playoffs and so on, like this past season.
  2. Why does the khsaa continue to rotate districts in 6A then? Just let them play put with D1 V D2 and so on?
  3. Sounds like it's time to play a full 10 game national schedule. Play the big California, Florida, Nevada and Texas schools that you see on ESPN every week. Obviously Kentucky doesn't have anything to offer so challenge yourself on the national scene every week.
  4. So 90% of 6A football in KY should just give up. Lol. May be that's what needs to happen, let the privates play each other for a 6A state Championship and the rest of 6A play in bowl games.
  5. Just trying to give a solution, move Souhrhern down to 5A and let one of the West 5A play up. Alleviates a 6 team western district in 6A and odd districts in Lville area. Geography is messed up when Owensboro schools travel almost 3 hours to Paducah for a district game. Here is another point to ponder, do some schools petition to play closer to home with the Governor slashing transportation budgets by 60%? Interesting plot twist
  6. If you start with the biggest and fix it first. You need a western KY 5A to play up and a Louisville 6A to drop to 5A. The western 5As may fight to see who can move up away from BG, OHS , South Warren and Christian Co. As will the Lville 6A to escape St X and T. 6A D1 McCracken Marshall Henderson Muhlenberg (Graves if they play up) District 2 Daviess Apollo Meade (Maybe a 5A who plays up, Ohio again, Grayson, Greenwood) or Muhlenberg if Graves plays up. District 3 North Hardin Central Hardin Bullitt E. Southern(or another lville 6A if one of these drops down to 5A maybe PRP District 4 Butler Manual Male St. X District 5 Trinity Ballard Eastern Brown District 6 Dixie Ryle Sk Campbell Co. District 7 Oldham Dunbar Henry Clay Bryan Stat. District 8 Lafayette Madison C. GRC Tates Creek Just a thought, I know there are a lot of holes but helps balance districts out. Shoot Away,
  7. I see 6A as a winnable situation in the West if they quit rotating district and play for true Region championships. 6A potential district opponents are comparable to Apollo than 5A. Especially with BG is the same region. Mberg, Marshall should be wins for Apollo. Henderson, McCracken, Daviess, Meade, Central Hardin and North Hardin are tougher but winnable games some years. Bowling Green, South Warren, Christian are out of Apollo and much of Western Kys league, Graves, OHS, Greenwood are the same level as most 6A schools in the West. I'd stay in 6A if I were them, most likely they will make that decision after new coach is hired
  8. I wonder if Ohio petitions to play up again, a district of Ohio, Daviess, Apollo and Meade could be plausible. Meade is 3rd region. 6A out West is a mess, then Mberg, Henderson, McCracken and Marshall. Put Hardin, Bullitt and 1 Louisville school in a district. Let The western teams play each other every year for a true region champion, quit rotating district junk in 6A.
  9. Interesting the lengths the khsaa will go to make sure T and X don't meet in the 1st round of playoffs. 6A should be like every other class and D1 vs. D2, D3 vs. D4, and so on. Would make things a lot less complicated.
  10. What is the legality of OTA in this format, I thought this was shy teams quit going to camp because they couldn't do 11 v 11 activity.
  11. I think it should be a requirement, as a coach be creative. I've heard of coaches who let the digital media class at their school do the stats every Monday. Great buy in and thinking outside the box. Very frustrating for those who take the time to do in-depth stats and submit them to see their opponent not do them or do them wrong. I.E QB and WR don't get a TD scored on a passing TD, the receiver gets it. One school kept boasting they has the leading scorer in the state bc he was getting TDs scored on every passing TD.
  12. Can Apollo "create" a position for the new coach or will they have to assume Coach Crumes teaching assignment? One would think that will determine the hire too
  13. Typically Louisville, Lexington and Northern Kentucky dominate these teams, Western Kentucky typically is ignored. Popularity contest is what it boils down too, unfortunately.
  14. He plays at Daviess County, which is in Owensboro, which is in Western Kentucky. Western Kentucky might as well be on Jupiter, to people on this site. Those around the 3rd Region definitely know him. I'm sure those teams he scored 21tds against know him, lol. He was all Messenger 1st team and is at the Army All American combine this weekend.
  15. Give every team an 11th regular season game and then only allow the top 2 teams in districts in the playoffs. Start playoffs one week later, gives schools another home game every other year and also keeps football ending the same time. Win/Win.
  16. All of these lopsided games in he 1st round. Teams losing money on travel, food and lost time out of school to travel hours to get a running clock before halftime(or even the 1st quarter). They need to step back and take a look on how to fix this issue. Obviously it's a case of the haves and the have-nots. Also they need to answer for why 6A has a whole different playoff assignment than the rest of the state. 8 teams west of Louisville in 6A and only 1 won, the others were all running clocked. The 1 seed McCracken got beat by the 4 seed. Manual drove all the way to Henderson to get a running clock there. I'd like to see the travel cost and time of these teams. KHSAA should have to pay for the cost of travel for these teams. SMH
  17. have regular season 11 games, just let the playoffs start week later and only the top 2 from districts make playoffs. When your season ends on a running clock, that's a bad feeling.
  18. This is why every team shouldn't make the playoffs, Muhlenberg has had a nice season they will win this week and could finish the season with a win, but no they have to finish the season with a long bus ride and a running clock. Why not have 11 regular season games and only top 2 from each district make playoffs?
  19. This is sad for these teams, who wins in this. I bet the schools lose money in travel, let the top 2 go to the playoffs from each district and let everyone else get another game. schedule 10 games and let schools who don't qualify schedule a game late in the year close to them. Let a couple more teams go out a winner.
  20. Dosent baseball play during spring break and basket ball over Christmas break. Sounds like a grumpy old man.
  21. Does McCracken get any better by running clocking every district opponent? I know they are handicapped by playing 6A ball, I wish they could be in a class with Owensboro, Christian Co., Bowling Green and Mayfield. Muhlenberg has a really, really good Muhlenberg team but will get utterly destroyed in the playoffs by anyone in Louisville 6A. What is the draw to even play 6A? Many schools will never play past round 1, but if they were in 4A they would do well. Just wish they could place teams in a performance based litkenhouse ratings system to help place teams along with population. L d the teams play a regional schedule and the place them in playoffs based on this rating at the end of the season. I know it can't happen, but could reward a school like Muhlenberg who is good but won't play past round 1 anytime in 6A. As will most 6As West of Louisville.
  22. not even fair, have you seen the facilities at McCracken? Indoor facility better than most colleges, dress 100 kids. Sad thing is McCracken may lose in the 1st round to a Louisville school. 6A is so out of balance, something needs to change, juSt isn't a level playing field in 6A.
  23. 6A needs to be redone totally, how is this the best thing for programs? Might as well just schedule an 11th game and forgo the 1st round and just let top 2 in districts into playoffs. Why even rotate? Go to the way everyone else does it or inner district games? something has to change or a few 6As need to drop out of district play. Ohio co. has less than 30 kids, on the same field as Trinity? Come on, what is good about that?
