Those kids who are losing 60-0 in round 1 probably lost at least one regular season game 60-0. If something like what you talk about happens, it won't be because of the playoff format.

Blowouts are going happen. First game, last, or playoffs doesn't matter. The question I have is the travel...Why drive 4hrs to get your heads bashed in? Has to be a remedy that someone smarter than me can come up with that won't eliminate all the classes. So that those schools who want to take a butt kicking can and McCracken and a Louisville school don't have to travel 4hrs to play

I can guarantee you that NewCath took a BIGTIME loss financially last night. There might have been 20 NewCath students in attendance, Carroll Co. brought a very small contingent of parents and virtually no students. The gate probably didn't even cover what the officials get paid.

 

Home teams in the 1st Round take a huge financial hit IMO.

Trust me, when it happens and a kid gets seriously hurt everybody outside of KY will look at the way this playoff system is set up and say it's INSANE. What is an 0-8 team doing playing a 8-0 team in a playoff game. That is REALLY STUPID!

Maybe they should cancel all those regular season games too? Let's just force Boone County to drop football since they've only won 1 game the last 3 years. That's idiotic!

So give the kids who have been getting their brains beat in all year one more opportunity......to get their brains beat in! That's insane What other state lets "everybody" in the state football playoffs, that's idiotic! Sounds like this system was probably set up for the "trophy for everybody" type parents.

Every 6A state title game since 2004 have been blowouts. Most of them involving Trinity. So what's that say about the losing team who made it that far?

What's 1 more game? At least football pays for itself. All of the other sports are really losing money on first round games.

Like 69-0 blowouts, the one last night vs Ohio Co. where Trinity did not even play their starting QB and went w/ 3rd and 4th stringers? What plausible reason is there for playing this game? What did an kid from either program get out of this? And back to my original point if a kid from Ohio Co. was seriously hurt you don't think people would ask the question, why is a 2 win team in the playoffs vs a powerhouse program? Like a sharp personal injury lawyer ?

The same plausible reason there is for playing lopsided district games. Just ask the people at Ballard, J-town, Seneca, and Eastern. Maybe those teams should drop football because they can't get within 50 (or 70 in J-towns case) against Trinity. Let's not play regular season games that will be blowouts. You get to be the all mighty decider of who's worthy to play of Friday night and who isn't. Just let the rest of us know by Sunday so we can structure our practice schedules accordingly.

Give every team an 11th regular season game and then only allow the top 2 teams in districts in the playoffs. Start playoffs one week later, gives schools another home game every other year and also keeps football ending the same time. Win/Win.

What about the teams that play in tougher districts? Why should Manual or Cooper go home because they were 3 seeds? They won their first round matchups and may win in round 2. Why penalize 3 seeds because of lopsided 1/4 matchups?
