October 10, 201610 yr According to Jerry, which further solidifies what holds that franchise back. He's a football moron. Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones reiterates Tony Romo is the team's number one quarterback
October 10, 201610 yr To be fair, he said if he's "perfectly healthy". Romo will never be perfectly healthy again.
October 10, 201610 yr Author Actually, it sure seemed to say he'd play them both unless I misunderstood his comment. If they are on the same path with Dak at QB, he's a fool to make a change. And I guess the HC has no say in the decision. AND THAT'S their problem.
October 10, 201610 yr If Romo is active, they will start him. Jerry is a lot like Mike Brown...he's not gonna pay a guy that much to NOT play.

And I guess the HC has no say in the decision. AND THAT'S their problem. It's like the Pat's when Brady took over when Bledsoe got hurt. Bledsoe may have been the better passer still at that time, but the offense was winning with Brady and they were smart to stay with him obviously. So as long as they are winning, you don't change.
October 10, 201610 yr This is a GREAT dilemma to have and as Dungy said last night. It is the right thing to say at this time. Don't put extra pressure on the kid. We are still several weeks away from knowing, a lot can happen in that time. If they can control the LOS and run the ball like they have, Gabbert can be their QB and they would be fine. Not taking anything away form Dak because he has been everything they thought and more and he is better than Gabbert by a long shot.
October 10, 201610 yr I understand the Cowboys are winning and looked GREAT against Cincy this week. But the offense is still more dynamic with a 100% healthy Romo. The offense is still limited with Dak. This is probably by design and its smart and so far they are winning. But as the season goes on people are going to develop a gameplan to control Dak. Maybe as the season goes on they open the offense more for him, but there is still zero downfield passing game and that is a huge part of Dallas's offense with Romo and Dez. This will open up even more holes for Zeke too.
October 11, 201610 yr Author The media will be unbearable when the time comes. And Jerry will lick it up.

Dak has yet to give away the ball to the opposition. People believe with Dez the Cowboys are built to unleash the ball downfield. They are actually better constructed to play ball control football featuring the best line in the NFL with a questionable defense.
October 11, 201610 yr If they go back to Romo right now it will be the dumbest decision in the NFL this season. No wonder the Cowboys are no longer great. Prescott is playing better than a healthy Romo. The fans are excited. They have the foundation in place for years of success. And they want to go back to Romo? Give me a break. Losers.
October 11, 201610 yr If you go with Dak it has to be for good, or a least until he collapses for multiple games. You can't put him on a short leash. I think that is what people are missing with this dilemma. The Cowboys in the next 2-3 weeks are going to be deciding upon their future QB, not the QB for the remainder of this season.

October 11, 201610 yr Let's be honest, if they go with Romo, it would only last a game or two anyway.
