Walmart cake decorators refuse to decorate Cop Cake

Featured Replies

after 25 years of service the cop was retiring . Seems like the story is accurate as Walmart has verified it happened as described . Wonder why the employees were not immediately fired ? Is the race of the employees relevant ? Wonder how Walmart would feel if a white baker refused to make a black lives matter cake ? The whole thing stinks - we have created a world where everyone thinks their rights not to be offended trump the basic rights of being a human. Polictical correctness is coming home to roost .

In a similar case recently the Walmart cashier that refused to check out a police officer was fired. Walmart will hopefully investigate this and if true take appropriate action as they did before.

I had a feeling the whole denying cake decorating hubbub would open a can of worms.

More cop hating. Hate seeing this kind of stupidity. I fully understand that SOME cops are bad, but it's the in thing to disrespect the police at every turn now, apparently. This country is in some serious need of some healing. For both those that are and feel oppressed and for those that just simply try to do a thankless job.

Is there only one cake decorator at a Wal-Mart?

^ If there are, they sure weren't busy checking out customers.

If you don't like or are afraid of cops stop breaking the law and meeting them in the worst of circumstances.

Believe a policy regarding these kind of incidents needs to be made very clear to all employees. With that said if someone hates me because of who I am I'd rather them just refuse to make me a cake rather than make it and me not know they hate me......

Well, if Walmart hires off-duty or retired police officers for plain clothes security, I doubt I would continue if I were a police officer.

This country is unraveling at the seams.

Not unusual to have only one on duty at a time...this could have actually been a deli or bakery associate that just refused to take the order, not necessarily a cake decorator.

They honestly do that a lot less frequently than you'd think...most when hired do other jobs than security.

Everybody's a protestor nowadays. If I'm an employer, my policy would be protest on your own time.

I think it should!
