September 26, 201610 yr Depends on the reason for refusing service. Please expound. I can't wrap my head around this. I see nothing here that would be a violation of any laws, should a private company decide to discipline their employees for denying service to anyone for a reason that company policy does not support. If there is a union involved, that is another issue altogether, but no indication of that here, either.
September 26, 201610 yr So, what is the law for a cake decorator to refuse or have to make a cake for a certain group?
September 26, 201610 yr Fire them..... We are a country of laws that get picked and chosen on what to enforce. Private business should do what they want and suffer the consequences or lack of them. We have laws against illegal immigration and rioting too.....

The question asked was a broad one in regards to a private business being able to refuse service for any reason and the free market would handle them if enough people were bothered. Civil Rights Act doesn't allow a business to refuse service based on religion, race, etc. Other laws prevent the use of arbitrary reasons to refuse service.
September 26, 201610 yr Depends on the reason for refusing service. It's not that hard to refuse service for any reason you come up with. It's even easier to do if you bring the law into it and trespass someone from your property. That's done all of the time, perhaps not because they don't want to serve them but it's done and easy to do.
September 27, 201610 yr There's this pesky thing called the law.... That's funny you say that, maybe if people followed the law there wouldn't be such harsh interactions with cops.
