Jumper_Dad Posted September 24, 2016 Posted September 24, 2016 Wow...I hope someone post the team stats and maybe by half for this game.
Bac2369 Posted September 24, 2016 Posted September 24, 2016 It's retarded to go for 2. Tie the game that way if you get a stop you don't have to rush and you can play your game.
hrcarrier Posted September 24, 2016 Posted September 24, 2016 Even if Corbin had successful attempts on two point conversions at other points in the game, they were nuts for not kicking the extra point on their last touchdown. Congratulations to Mayfield on a big time win. I wouldn't doubt if this one goes down as the best game of the state for the regular season.
tcjkbt Posted September 24, 2016 Posted September 24, 2016 Typical Mayfield--------playing tough and finding a way to win.
Lawnboy13 Posted September 24, 2016 Posted September 24, 2016 WOW!!! nice comeback by the Red Hounds. Congrats to the Cards on the "W".
OnTopOfTheWest Posted September 24, 2016 Posted September 24, 2016 First half stats... mayfield.... rushing123....passing 238..... total 361....14 first downs...landon 17-23/238...... Corbin.... 14 rushing..... 5 passing.... 19 total.... 0 first downs!! Mayfield gave Corbin 2 td's
Cardinals44 Posted September 24, 2016 Posted September 24, 2016 Not certain on the game stats yet. Was told Corbin had 19 total yards at the half. It jus makes me sick we gave them 3 TDS but that's part of the game I guess. Corbin looked like a different team in the 2nd half. I thought we was gonna put them away but they fought back and made a game of it. Congrats to Corbin on a hard fought game. But more importantly congrats to my cardinals for not giving up and holding on to the win.
OnTopOfTheWest Posted September 24, 2016 Posted September 24, 2016 Well they only had to score 2 touchdowns to make it a game... they got momentum bc of shots to the foot..
BigRedDiesel Posted September 24, 2016 Posted September 24, 2016 Way too many mistakes by MF that allowed this thing to be closer than it needed to be. Credit to Corbin for fighting the whole game. Not sure why, but this MF team struggles to finish teams when they have them on the ropes.
4chs Posted September 24, 2016 Posted September 24, 2016 Corbin's defense stepped up and played well in the second half, they were way too timid in the first half. The offense struggled until the 4th qtr. and really need to clean it up by playoff time. The Corbin offense is not built to overcome all the penalties and turnovers that happened tonight and were fortunate that Mayfield struggled in their punting game, which enabled them to hang around long enough to make a game of it. Congrats to Mayfield on the win and hats off to the Corbin kids for fighting through a tough night when they could have just thrown in the towel.

We put ourselves in position to seal the deal and then look up and the opponent is right back in the mix.
Toothpick Posted September 24, 2016 Posted September 24, 2016 Glad to be home, it's 2AM Central aka Mayfield time 3 AM Eastern. That is way to far for this old guy but was worth it to see a quality opponent. This game was a tale of 2 Halfs. The first would have seen an end to the game had it not been for Cards mistakes. A blocked punt for a Hounds TD A and a hounds pick 6. The second half saw us flat and late I thought we looked tired. A lot of our kids go both ways and the Hounds don't. A final mistake by the Cards led to a 3rd Hounds score when we had a punt snap sail over the punters head and give the Hounds the ball on about our 10 that led to a Hounds score. The Hounds deserve a lot of credit for not giving up and they made great halftime adjustments that really hindered the Cards offense One hallmark of Mayfield is not beating yourself with mistakes. Tonight we had to overcome costly mistakes that cost us a lot of points. Very in-Mayfield like We sure could have used Trajon tonight though his replacement preformed very well
LVGambla32 Posted September 24, 2016 Posted September 24, 2016 What a game it was. It looked as if Mayfield was going to put this away early in the second half but Corbin kept fighting and made it quite the game.
