If they did lose this game, there was no rational way of placing this one on Dalton. He and Green were lights out considering the help they got.

If they did lose this game, there was no rational way of placing this one on Dalton. He and Green were lights out considering the help they got. Dalton and everyone would have had their fair share of blame. While the o line played horrible, Dalton took some huge sacks that cost the Bengals possible points. The sack before half when he could have thrown it away, cost them a true chance at a td before half. Then the sack in the 4th put them in long field goal range. As a veteran qb in those spots he knows better than to take those sacks. It's pretty simple with Dalton. Dalton does a good job with his pre read before snaps, however if a team takes away his first read he has always struggled because he is not good going through progressions. With that said when his first reads were open, he put the ball on the money. Good win to start the year.
September 11, 201610 yr I always love when people complain about our defense, and blitzing more, etc. Do you all realize most nfl fan bases would love to have our defense compared to theirs? The Jets probably will be a top 10 offense and we held them to 22 points. Also for the people who hate the secondary, you all realize they held one of the best wr tandems in the nfl to 5 total catches on 15 targets. While the Jets blitzed alot and had sacks, they allowed one wr to tear them apart, and allowed the Bengals to drive for the winning td. I know with us being Bengal fans, we live on every single play, and any little thing that doesn't go right seems magnified to us. However in reality the majority of nfl fan bases have it a lot worst with their defense. Peko is still horrible though, but the Bengals will also get one of the best linebackers in football back in 2 weeks. So the defense should look crisper than today, and even today it wasn't as horrible as people make it, and at the end of the day was better than the Jets defense too.

September 11, 201610 yr Dalton was under pressure all day and still threw for 366. Outstanding performance for big Red. He may stink it up next week but he came through today. AD and AJ were lights out!!!! BTW, some embarrassing comments in the update thread, as usual.
