I think Henry Clay is a very good team, however Boyle Co., is down in comparison to past teams. There probably are not 4 or 5 Div-1 or 1-AA players on this team. Also Boyle used to have some guys that would really knock peoples heads off, Matt Quinn comes immediately to mind. This Boyle team is very solid and I am not knocking them in the least, but when you lose the man who built this team into a state power, plus you no longer have the Leffew bro's Jacob Tamme, Jeff Duggins, Brodie Overstreet, Brandon Smith, Matt Quinn, etc....it is only natural to fall a little bit. However if Boyle can rebound and refocus after this loss, there is no reason they can't compete for a title this year.

The Rebels will not be competing for a title this year!

Coach Pardue is doing the right thing and playing a lot of sophomores and underclassman to build for the future at Boyle County. This team is very young and will get better, but will take some lumps this year.

Henry Clay was the better team tonight by far. To the fans of Henry Clay, you're a class act,you have a really good team there, cont. to support your team, they deserve that.As for Boyle Co.,keep your heads up, this was only one game, learn from it and cont. to work hard. You will be all right, now lets get ready for the next game. We as fans are behind you 100%. Go Rebels.

HC is good but may I remind you that a single A school played with them pretty well last week. Pikeville is good this year no doubt. But if HC is a legit top 5 team they should ahve walked over them early and often. They was only up on Pikeville 14 to 0 at halftime. And Pikevilles Line whipped HC all day. So if HC is going to make a run they will have to get into gear on the line. They are skilled enuff to go along ways with their skilled players. But Trinity, Male, or St X would tear their lines apart.

Just wondering, who does HC have to defeat in the playoffs to get to PJCS? Are they in the Male/X/Trinity side or the other one?

Trinity side.

How will boyle match up with mercer in a couple weeks?

Trinity side.

So ther could be a Lexington/NKY final? NKY is in with the western teams?

I see you are back at it.;)

The great lines of Pikeville got handled by a medicore East Jessamine crew last night.

This should be interesting. Boyle is better then last night. They are young. But my Titans.....They are for real.

Unlike many crosstown/county rivals, these schools actually respect each other and cheer for each other when they aren't playing against the other. I have a ton of respect for both programs.

Henry Clay is making a statement, ... they are loaded again.

Before I say what I want to say, please let me say this, Henry Clay should be proud of their team. What a powerful bunch of players they have. Boyle County got beat by a better team tonight and my hats are off to them. I will never be part of putting down any kid on any team, they work too hard for me to do that. I think that people would have to be involved with the Danville and Boyle programs to understand it. We truly do respect each other and if we get beat - well then we get beat. I think what people seem to forget is that this game is a game about kids. It has nothing to do with us adults. The kids, on all the teams of this great commonwealth, are the ones that have worked and still are working theirselves silly trying to get ready to play a game they love. So one team beats the pants off another team, that doesn't make the losing team any less than the winning team. You can't expect every team that Boyle puts on the field to be just like the teams that won all those state championships, anymore than you can expect all of your kids to be as good as the other. What I find funny is that people can't seem to get over the fact that Boyle did win those 5 state championships but they won them fair and square and no one can say any different. Boyle County may not win a lot of games this year. Boyle County may not go to the state championship game. So what? We will always be proud of our kids and the effort that they give each and every day out there preparing themselves for each Friday night. I can tell you this much, it was obvious from the start that Henry Clay was the better team last night but it did not stop me from being proud of those young men that Boyle County put on that field last night. I don't expect them to win championships but I do expect them to play the game fair and honest and for them to give their best effort and they have always done this and will continue to do this. GO REBELS!!!!!!:ylsuper: :ylsuper: :ylsuper:

Nice post Rebel...:thumb:

Rebelk, has just given you the greatest insite to high school ball. It sometimes isn't about wins and loses it how you handled yourself during each. Boyle Co. were great champions and they were great players on each and every team. Boyle Co. are now great champions the seniors on this team have a championship ring and a runner up ring. Always with great class in victory and defeat they done something that we could only dream about. When your status reaches that level then start up about who's getting beat and who's handing it out. Great football teams and players in this state deserve our praise and Boyle Co. had a lot to do with great football being played in this state. Remember that when you talking about Boyle Co..............LTW.

Its just a fact at this time that Boyle Co is just not a very good football team and they may struggle alot this year on defense. From my gathering of the players they start seven sophomores on defense. It looks like they are a year away from being back to the states elite as they once was. As far as Henry Clay this district could be the strongest in the state. Henry Clay Scott Co , Lafayette and it looks like Tates Creek is back up this year.
