Was it loud?

It wasn't quiet, but it wasn't loud either. Wooten Stadium is "open" enough that it was very tolerable. I've been to numerous games where the crowd noise was significantly louder than the lights were tonight.

For us uneducated folks can someone tell us how good this Ohio team is and who they compare to?

They are good and compare to CovCath in an up year.

This was the second week in a row that Cov Cath lost the battle of offensive yardage, but won the game.

Easily the biggest win in Coach Eviston's tenure at CCH.

No doubt. Need to follow it up with another solid outing next week.

From the Cincy Enquirer:

CovCath downs Sycamore in overtime, 34-33

PARK HILLS, KY -On a chamber of commerce night at Covington Catholic High School, the Colonels won the Labor Day weekend show over Sycamore 34-33 in overtime. Junior quarterback A.J. Mayer threw a touchdown pass to senior Dave Reisiger to tie the game in OT, then senior Matt Kloska’s extra point sealed the win to allow a sea of blue on the Cov Cath turf.

“Fourth down, it’s do or die there,” Cov Cath coach Eddie Eviston said. “We had good execution. A.J. threw a good ball and we had a great catch. Obviously, the PAT is huge.”

Mayer finished 18-35 passing for 247 yards and three scores. Reisiger had two of the scoring grabs and a total of 6 receptions for 65 yards.

Brought in portables.

Is this a trial? Or are there plans for lights? I think it's great they get experience Friday nights at home

Lights are being added and stands replaced at the end of the season.

Wow we have some coverage!

What do they do for a Chamber of Commerce Night?

Congratulations to CovCath. Truly happy for you. Beating a team like Sycamore is a good resume builder for the season and will certainly give your boys some much needed experience.

Oak Hills and Sycamore are now a combined 0-4 on the season. Comparing them to Lou. St. Xavier is a bit of an insult to the Tigers, IMO.

I know nothing about Louisville St. X's roster this year so I cannot speak to that comparison, but obviously 2 of the 4 losses for these teams come at the hands of the Colonels, and the other two were to Elder and LaSalle. I think that eliminates the record argument of the two teams CCH has defeated.

Wow Time of possession was 45 min with Colonels and only 16 with Sycamore? Is that a typo?

Congrats to the Colonels on the big win. It looks like the Colonels have some solid receivers who can catch the ball.
