Ashland/Russell Predictions

Its been raining all night, who knows if we will play or not.......

Well, somebody should know...... and soon. If there is any truth to this the decision should be made sooner rather than later.

Its football, lets play.

Russell in a close hard fought game. Goo luck to both teams.

Play the game! It's football for goodness sake. The uniforms will clean-up. I don't think we would even consider not playing the game if it were at the "Hank".

Unless....its a playoff game and the "Hank" is in really bad shape AND Putnam Stadium is available to you good folks.....right 78?

That' different Painter. This is not a playoff game in November. It's a regular, non-district game in early September between cross-town rivalries. Suit-up and play the game already.

We're on the same page 78...if what we read on this post is any indication, it seems nearly everyone wants this game to kick off as originally planned.

How would this decision be made?? Is it all Mark Swift's decision or will he get with Sam Sparks and make the decision...My guess is Russell will want to play unless the field conditions are so bad that it is dangerous for the kids...If it is so bad that they can't pay tonight, I can't see how waiting until tomorrow will make it that much better...Forecast for tomorrow is cloudy with showers and a high of 75...That won't put much of a dent in the wetness...Unless it was supposed to be hot & sunny I don't see the advantage in waiting...Just my 2 cents worth...

I've never seen a football game cancelled due to rain, are you serious? Flood water maybe, but rain?

I think if the game isnt going to be played then the should let everyone know soon and not cancel it at the last minute!

Putnam wasn't in great shape for that game either. Both fields were nothing but mud. 2002 was the wettest season I can remember. It seemed like it rained every friday. BTW, thanks.

Sparks and Swift have been in contact about the possibility of moving the game since early this week.

Play ball already !!!!!!! TOO LATE TO STOP NOW !!!!!!

I would expect a decision no later than noon.

Thanks for the update...
