A friend of mine told me that the current seniors on Danville lost every game as 8th graders.

 

That's interesting. I wonder how that will affect both teams mentally.

The last 2 seasons of middle school scores were 89-6 combined in favor of BCMS (Soph/Frosh).

 

Before that (Junior class) I believe Danville won in some closer games.

 

Not sure about senior level.

 

Danville 2016 is a VERY good team. They have lots of talent/speed and a great QB. That being said...I believe it'll come down to OL/DL play.

 

I'm going with Boyle Co because I believe the offense is going to take a step forward and the Rebels are playing at home this week (although the loss of Reese Smith will have an adverse effect on the offense).

Been saying since the spring that biggest area for improvement had to be up front. Boyle was outgunned all over the field against Lafayette so the line didn't shoulder all of that game. However Danville's line is as good as it has been in a while and if Boyle is to win the Oline has make some big strides this week.

I'm curious to know how past success at the little league and middle school level with this current group of kids has played out in the past. I wonder if that could have a mental affect on either team. Does anyone know past results?

 

Danville may have the edge. I can think of a little league game where Danville won by less than a TD, a middle school game at Admiral Stadium where Bate won in OT. I am sure there are plenty more, those 2 come to mind. They have been close, for sure

Boyle will need to slow down Danville's offense to stay in this game. Boyle is averaging 20.5 pts per game (plus an OT) and simply doesnt have the athletes to put big numbers on the scoreboard.

 

If the Rebel defense can keep the Admiral speed contained, and find away to get pressure on Dampier, I think they can disrupt Danville enough to make this a great finish.

 

I will say, in my opinion, Boyle is an underdog going into this game.

IMO Boyle wins because of the level of competition that both teams have played I think the two teams Boyle has played are far better than the teams Danville has played if you swap schedules Boyle is 2-0 and Danville is 0-2. I also think Boyle has had a psychological advantage over Danville for the past 15 years or so because Boyle has owned Danville during that period of time at the varsity level.just saying

I have to disagree just because I can really haha I feel that Boyle has done more in the past with less talent. I think bc is very talented this year but I also feel like some of the older talent doesn't respond well to adversity or to a challenge. I have seen the coaching staff challenge them personally to put the team on there shoulders(seniors) and they simply will not make the changes needed. I have seen juniors and sophomores with more will to win and more heart when that is the case its never good.

I don't know how Boyle looks offensively but they are going to need to score 28+ if they are going to win this game. Danville has so many offensive weapons.
