It ain't about the regular season. It's about November and December. I'd rather they go 5-5 and make than state semis than go 11-0 and lose in round 2 at home. Or go 9-3 and lose to LexCath in round 3. Or go 10-2 and lose to Central at Central because they couldn't secure home field advantage in the regular season. They don't hand out trophies for awesome regular season records.

He had 4 big time D 1 players in high school football in Ky! And he wasn't playing in 6A which you should win the 6A state title with that many bigtime players. Shaking my head! The game is about players and if you aint got'em you aint winning state titles!!!

D1 and NFL is a big difference there haha and he won all but 2 games and 5 straight titles during that time. He played 6A schools and beat them. He knows it's about the players but in that same breath you have to have a coach that can bring those players together and make them play as a unit. If you read the articles in the local paper he isn't mad about these losses. I'm not sure what point you're trying to make?

But as has already been stated: He didn't have 4 NFL players on the rosters.

There is an older thread about Div. 1 players in past programs and if you find it you will see there are many programs who have had D1 guys and not won a state title. In fact Boyle had only 1 D1 guy on it's last two state champ teams. I happen to think Chuck is a pretty good coach and I'm sure there are some who disagree. Life happens.
