I didn't speak on the behalf of the Boyle County football team. It was encouraging to me, as a football fan, to see them battling hard out there with the 2nd best team in the state. I do enjoy moral victories and you can't argue that.

Boyle is 32-5 the last 3 seasons, losing 1, 2 & 2 games the last 3 years. Coming into the season, they had lost a total of 4 games since Smith's return.

It ain't about the regular season. It's about November and December. I'd rather they go 5-5 and make than state semis than go 11-0 and lose in round 2 at home. Or go 9-3 and lose to LexCath in round 3. Or go 10-2 and lose to Central at Central because they couldn't secure home field advantage in the regular season. They don't hand out trophies for awesome regular season records.
