How far do/did you live from your In-Laws?

The Josh Cook thread has me thinking.

 

How far away do you live from your parents (or did you if they're no longer with us) and your in-laws? Or your grown children?

 

How far is too far? How close is too close?

 

My In-laws are roughly an hour away, which is the worst distance, because they expect to see us all the time, but are never willing to drive.

 

My parents are about 6 hours, and we see them a few times a year.

I'm in Louisville, parents are in Frankfort, so about 45 minutes. No in-laws yet.

20 minutes from my parents.

 

35 minutes from my wife's dad and stepmom.

 

1 hour from my wife's mom and stepdad.

 

See my parents about once a week.

 

See hers about once every 2-3 weeks on average.

About 700 yards from my in laws, and about 15 minutes from my mom.

Less than a mile from the inlaws :ohbrother: 0.4 miles according to mapquest.

 

My father lives in FL so about 12 hours for him. My mother lives about 15 minutes away.

Live in the same town I grew up in along with my parents and in-laws, and it was great. Just a few streets away in either direction. My sister-in-law lived a few doors from them, which was too close IMO. She got all the calls, when the garbage cans blew over, the vcr was flashing 12:00 again, etc. Perfect!

About 1,000 miles from the parents. About 1,450 miles from the mother in-law.

30 minutes from the in laws

 

9-10 hours from my Mom (Dad passed away in 2012)

Just a quad ride from the in-laws who live less than 1/2 a mile down the road.

Whole family lives within 5 miles of each other. Wish I had enough property that would hold all of them. Family is my most cherished asset!
