August 29, 201610 yr Author I'm interested why the original poster is so interested in this... Mentioned it at least twice in the original thread. Cook went to a (traditionally) better job that is closer to his wife's family, and closer to Lexington. Other than the timing, this move was a no brainier. I grew up more >10hrs from both sets of grandparents, they have no involvement in my life. So I am always fascinated (not good or bad) by people who have heavily involved grandparents. Just a curious thing.
August 29, 201610 yr Both sets of our parents deceased. Lived next door to my mother-in-law and father-in-law for 14 years and we never had a problem and loved them both and kept Grandma in our home until she passed away with Alzheimer's and complications. My parents were about 1/2 hour away. I'm from a family of ten so I do miss seeing them so much. And miss the ones who have passed so very much. So that leaves me and Papaw. I'm the mother-in-law, Son , wife and family live about 20 minutes away. Our other son , wife and family lives about 1 & 1/2 hours away. Never see sons, wives or grandchildren enough. Sometimes a phone call . Modern day lives with jobs, sports schedules , school, college are always so busy. But we would love to see them more often. As I'm sure most of you would. September 6, 201610 yr My in laws are about 5 1/2 hours away. They're great, wish they were a bit closer.
