Scott Eagle Trouble???

Okay, I'll go ahead and ask the obvious. Why did the coach quit? I'm assuming there were already some issues here?

Hopefully someone a little more in the know would answer this but rumor is that he and Coach Wooley had a disagreement and Simpson stormed out and quit

I heard that he did quit but actually happend after the NCC game. Pretty poor role model if you ask me. These kids were counting on him and now due to a disagreement with the head coach he bailed. Suck it up and resign the right way at the conclusion of the season.

That's easy to say but you do not know how long something if anything has been brewing between the coaches. I think its better for the two to part ways then potentially have your locker room torn apart due to mixed loyalty among the players. It still may have an affect, but at least you will not have the distraction of coaches arguing with each other the entire season.

Good, bad or whatever, this isn't the type of thing that a resurgent football program needs this early in the year - especially after a poor scrimmage and bad week 1 loss.

It's happened, Scott HS will be fine, they need to focus the guys on the upcoming opponent which is an old rival.

So reading between the lines here, Simpson and Wooley had an ongoing issue and it came to a head in the last handful of days, correct?

I sure hope this didn't all play out directly in front of the team. Heck of a way to try to damage a head coach's credibility and to set a bad example for kids by calling out the coach in front of them and then storming off and quitting.

Do you know if something was brewing for awhile between the two coaches? Either way, handle your business like a man and do what your boss tells you needs to be done. Woolley is the head coach and has the final say what happens with his program. I don't know what the exact circumstance was, but I would think that you have to suck it up and finish what you started for the kids. Simpson might have known Scott was gonna struggle and was looking for a way out. I don't know that as a fact, but since we are talking circumstantial information, there is mine

Was there a hidden microphone and a secret recording?? : )

There are a lot of good coaches in that program who are highly thought of in the NKY High School football community. I am not affiliated with the program but know quite a few of those guys. If one bad apple was ruining the bunch then it is probably a good thing that the apple is gone. There is enough football knowledge up there at Scott. They will be just fine. They may not be as good as last year but they will be better off down the road.

Having been in this situation as a coach. Not knowing the reasons why there was conflict. I do not feel this is a bad thing for the program. Obviously other coaches in a program this size can step up and the kids won':t miss a beat. If the coach stayed on and the problems continued to fester like any other infected wound it would have started to affect the team adversely! It probably worked out best for all parties involved! :idunno:

Him being a former D1 player 30 years ago has nothing to do with the fact he handled this situation poorly. He is indeed gone and Casey Fisk has now replaced him as Defensive Coordinator. Casey is a former head coach with many years of experience. This is a good thing for Scott

Casey will do a great job.

Nah, everybody has a phone now...

Is Miles Simpson still on the coaching staff?

No..From what I heard he is in Arizona finishing his degree..
