I don't think you can gauge any team by their freshmen. If I recall correctly, The 2012 State Champion Purples were winless as freshmen.

I do not think that Coach Wallace and the staff will look into Indiana and certainly not Alabama but it is a possibility that a Tennessee team or two could be in the foreseeable future. There are plenty of top-level teams in the Bluegrass that can play with about anybody. I for one would love to see them go with Trinity, Male or Mayfield. Certainly do not want to overlook any team that is currently on their schedule. High School football is a funny game where upsets can happen. I just know how fun it was when we played Blackman in McCally. Would love to see some of those games again in the near future

Same here. I'd love to see how they stack up against some of the best of KY like Male, Trinity along with St. X still. Mayfield too. I think that is a game both programs would love to see take place as well.

I could almost guarantee BG would not travel to Northern GA. Even if they did, that'd be the only game they'd travel that far to play in a season. An independent public school can't afford to travel to multiple schools that are over 3 hours away in a single season. As for SW, you could've signed the contract before or tried to scrimmage BG. I'll be more than happy to see your better team line up against Dingle, Kenner, Little Vito, and the rest of the BG Purples for the first time next year.

South Warren fans won't agree but BGHS has tried unsuccessfully to play Spartans previous 3 seasons; to no avail.

 

Spartans should be about 34-0 when they face BG, which at the time, BG should/could be on 27 or 28 game win streak themselves (Bg also will be 88-3 or 87-4 at the time they meet). South Warren is good, really good but BG is just a tad better than Franklin Simpson or Johnson Central.

 

No way to convince Spartan Nation that BG is on a different level. Time will tell. Sometimes you get what you ask for.

 

100% correct. And they may be really good and they might even be able to sustain the success, but as far as I am concerned until they actually start playing teams in the class they are should be and actually play some decent teams.....they are the most fraudulent team in the state

Well. I've had my laugh for the night.

I could care less about all of it except for the comment about Iggy. He was/is a division one athlete. There's no way around that. Ford is not in a realm of what Iggy was athletically at all. He is classified as a good high school football player, and there is absolutely nothing wrong with that.

While I agree that he probably will be ruled eligible - mostly because I don't think the KHSAA has generally proven to have the stomach to rule many ineligible - the notion that a bona fide move is all you have to do to assure yourself of eligibility is a fallacy. Bylaw 6 can be viewed here (http://khsaa.org/handbook/bylaws/20142015/bylaw6.pdf), but specifically:

 

Sec. 3) SPECIFIC RESTRICTIONS RESULTING IN DENIAL OF WAIVER

Satisfying of one of the exceptions (Section 2, a through i) shall not be considered valid and a waiver of the period of ineligibility shall not be granted:

 

e) if the change in schools is motivated in whole or part by a desire to participate in athletics at the new school;

 

(There are other restrictions, but that is by far the most pertinent to this discussion.)

 

The Section 2 that is referenced is where the Bona Fide Change In Residence is noted as a discretionary exception for a waiver in the eligibility rule. It is quite clear why Ford, and indeed pretty much all of the Dragons who have left, are at the schools they've gone to, and it is that exact reason spelled out there. And that's why he hasn't already been ruled eligible. If a move is all it took, then it would have been a slam dunk and would be done by now.

I dont think he will be ruled eligible .Ten of the twelve have not been ruled eligible but i dont understand why two have based on what Dragonfly has pointed out they too moved for athletic reasons just bc they have divorced parents should not make them any more eligible.Personally i think they all should be ruled eligible Khsaa should take in consideration the hardship the players have been thru with all the choas at WC .I am also understanding several of the ten will not play for Warren Central.
