Nobody in particular. Was just throwing it out there. You never hear of Ky teams playing any deep south teams for the most part. Tennessee is about it, as well as the Va. teams that EKy schools schedule. Thought it would be interesting.

Have bowling Green schedule mayfield and we can see two of the best programs go head to head.. ;-)

What about one of the Evansville powers? Would BG go to Memphis?

They'll travel hours to play TN teams, but won't travel 15 minutes to play South Warren?

 

Seeing as how this thread is about next year's schedule we all know SW will be on the schedule from now on. Neither school will be able to claim the other one is ducking each other from now on so get it all out now.

South Warren fans won't agree but BGHS has tried unsuccessfully to play Spartans previous 3 seasons; to no avail.

 

Spartans should be about 34-0 when they face BG, which at the time, BG should/could be on 27 or 28 game win streak themselves (Bg also will be 88-3 or 87-4 at the time they meet). South Warren is good, really good but BG is just a tad better than Franklin Simpson or Johnson Central.

 

No way to convince Spartan Nation that BG is on a different level. Time will tell. Sometimes you get what you ask for.

Bowling Green would have too much for Colerain this season. Colerain lost a lot of key people and their feeder programs are losing kids to the private schools like Elder and Moeller. The GCL is also down this season, Elder is rebuilding and St. Xavier is as well. Playing Trinity or Male would be better competition the next two or three years than Colerain or those GCL schools.

 

Thought I saw where Colerain was ranked 14th nationally on max preps. Said they were returning 9 starters on defense and 4 on offense. And they listed several standout players. Maybe I'm wrong or had the wrong year.

They lost their top five players on offense. That national ranking is about as bogus as they come. Colerain might not be the best team in the GMC this year, much less 14th nationally. That's a ranking they get for last year's great run.

I give the nod to BG's freshmen class. Boyle's class is outstanding adding Landon Bartleson to it but I think BG is better than Boyle at most of the positions on the field.

 

I think they aren't too far apart but I have seen BG play some of the top teams in middle school. I have seen Boyle's class play and they have done extremely well but the competition they have faced isn't like the competition BG has faced. I'm not saying Boyle can't or won't beat BG if they played a true freshman game. I'm saying I really don't know.

I don't think you can gauge any team by their freshmen. If I recall correctly, The 2012 State Champion Purples were winless as freshmen.

Plus you never know who's going to join the team after that. It's open market nowadays and that's not a shot at BG. It's everywhere. :thumb:
