There are ALWAYS going to be officer involved shootings. There will be some that are questionable and some that are murder. People say everyone needs to come together and that's great, but as soon as there's another shooting, justified or not, that looks questionable, we'll have more protests and more people wanting to kill police. This is crazy. How many police have been shot and/or killed this month? 20+?

Jumper_Dad Posted July 17, 2016 Posted July 17, 2016 I never check my phone during church but today it buzzed and for some reason I checked to see what the alert was for. CNN alert about ambush and dead officers choked me up, sitting there in my pew. Soon as I got out I texted son, who's on duty right now, and told him to be careful and I loved him. We were just talking yesterday about Sunday's yesterday and he said that it was one of the worst days to work...I always assumed Sunday, especially in the morning was safe and slow. Prayers for Baton Rouge Law Enforcement and all those touched by these senseless killings.
Clyde Posted July 17, 2016 Posted July 17, 2016 One report says there were reports of a male walking down the road carrying a rifle of some sort. I will assume that's legal in Louisiana. Besides rolling up on the guy and saying hello what can an officer do legally when he/she sees this guy? He wasn't doing anything illegal, right? No probable cause to detain him. Again, these open carry gun laws are putting police in a really bad spot like we saw in Minnesota.

Possible they started shooting to draw police in. #3, If 7 were shot and 3 are dead, they were targeted when they got there. I don't care what the witness thinks.
