July 22, 201610 yr Laura Ingraham mocked Cruz in her speech. She said, "I want to say this very plainly. We should all, even all you boys with wounded feelings and bruised egos [pause] we love you, we love you. But you must honor your pledge to support Donald Trump now, tonight, tonight." As the crowd cheered, she said, "I hope they are listening to you." These remarks came at about 10:30. She went on to say that this is the most important election since 1980. She reeled off several evidences of demise , like stagnating wages, sky-rocketing health care costs, doubling the debt, threat of ISIS, and the rise of China. Ingraham said with much sarcasm, "And the Democrats answer to all that, is to nominate the woman who helped orchestrate America's decline. That has to be some cruel joke." She went on to extol the virtues of the American spirit and said, "We need a President who believes in the constitution and will fight for us and not against us, and treat us as an ally, not an enemy. Fight alongside with us. We are not the enemy. We are the people. We are not your servants. You're ours." She then addressed the media in the upper deck and said "you know why in your heart" that Donald Trump won the Republican nomination, because "he dared to call out the phonies, the frauds, and the corruption that has gone on unexposed and uncovered for too long. Do your job!" Lots of cheers (not from the media, of course). "Doing your job is a novel concept." Ingraham continued: "Donald Trump respects us enough to tell us the hard truths about what has happened to our country on issues like immigration, trade, our diminished status around the world, even in the face of harsh criticism and sheer hatred. They've had their chance. Now, it's our chance. America, let us now go forth and reject the politics of division, let's defeat the Clinton machine. Let's send the consultants, the pollsters, and the lobbyists packing. Let's give the power back to the people. And let's elect Donald Trump President of the United States!"
July 22, 201610 yr ^ I think Ingraham hit on some key things in the last three paragraphs above that explain why Trump has so much support. He tapped into that anger and disappointment that people have over those perceived issues.

July 22, 201610 yr I didn't say she wasn't. But you can't come up in here spouting things like "integrity" and "honror a pledge" and crap, and then say you support Trump. This thread is about the RNC. There will be plenty of time to take shots at HRC next week. Don't play diversionary tactics to deflect people from looking at the Trump/Pence ticket. If he (Trump) can throw shade at Cruz and his family and all are OK with it, then by God, I'm taking the gloves off and stating what I think about him without reservation. Take 'em off, Rockmom. About time.
