Trump understands that most Americans need to be entertained. Can the controversial and often outrageous Trump defeat the establishment and old school crooked Hillary? Trump makes for great television. I believe many people will vote for Trump on this alone.

In hindsight, I agree. My "backfired" comment was regarding what he thought Cruz might do/say/feel like as a "loser" vs what he delivered. Trump is from the "any pub is good pub" school so he's excited.

Trump is from the "any pub is good pub" school so he's excited. Personally, I feel like it was a win-win for Donald. If Cruz got up there and gave an endorsement, then great. If Cruz got up there and refuses to endorse, which he did, then he comes across as a sore loser, which is the opinion that some people have.
