July 15, 201610 yr Ideas are bulletproof. We need more help from the Muslim world more than the West needs to drop more bombs. Wouldn't have stopped this attack. I agree, it would be ideal if the Muslim world stepped in. But up to this point what makes you think that will happen? I have almost almost zero confidence that it does happen, and I'm not okay with sitting idly by while we wait for it.
July 15, 201610 yr Appears ifs frustrating when this one doesn't follow the narrative. Similar to the "guns make us safer"narrative both have some holes.

Makes you really wonder if the line between moderate and radical Islam is really there.
July 15, 201610 yr Author Similar to the "guns make us safer"narrative both have some holes. Guns make us safer, what does the police and military use to kill these savages with again? Peasants have the same rights to protect their families with the same tools.
July 15, 201610 yr If the country with the most weapons in the world can't stop this it's pointless for posters to act as if we're any safer than those people in France because we possess weapons when terrorists decide to act. Guess what stopped it. Yep, a hail of bullets.
July 16, 201610 yr Guns make us safer, what does the police and military use to kill these savages with again? Peasants have the same rights to protect their families with the same tools. Data doesn't support that, JA. Trained police officers do use guns to apprehend or kill those who wish to harm others. Guess what stopped it. Yep, a hail of bullets. Sure did. Even France has police to react when citizens need protected.
July 16, 201610 yr If France wants to ban a woman from wearing a Burka, then that's their God given right too. They don't have to bow to other cultures do they, and if the Burka woman don't like it then there is a lot of Muslims countries she can move to. Don't move into a country and try to change them, if you want to live there then adapt to their laws and culture. It's not like France isn't let them practice Islam. France should go in to those Muslim held no go zones rules by sharia law and send them all to a country of Middle East choice.

Even France has police to react when citizens need protected. If you don't want to have firearms to protect your family, that is your right. The Constitution says it is my right to have them if I want to protect my family.
July 16, 201610 yr If you don't want to have firearms to protect your family, that is your right. The Constitution says it is my right to have them if I want to protect my family. No argument with that.
July 16, 201610 yr My point was to show that you can't just "declare war on ISIS." So let's get to your point. How do we stop ISIS from setting up shop in Syria? I've mentioned in the past how complex the middle east is, it's simply not an easy win. With the lack of any countries really stepping to the plate we sorta stood around looking/waiting for an army to step forward. Had the Kurd's not already been in the fray I'm not sure where we would be. This lull waiting for a fighting force just allowed ISIS to grow more stronger and branch out into multiple countries. My complaint has been about defining who our enemy is and the pace we have chosen to bring the fight to them. Continuing to allow them a safe haven only allows them the ability to inspire more radicals. I still think Iraq still has to be split into 2 separate states, Sunni and Shia. Even then they will still kill each other, but something besides the way it is now has to be tried.
July 16, 201610 yr Makes you really wonder if the line between moderate and radical Islam is really there. Funny you said that. Listening to AM radio today a converted Muslim to Christianity guy said, "there's no such thing as moderate Islam ", very interesting to listen to this guy and his take on things.

Listening to AM radio today a converted Muslim to Christianity guy said, "there's no such thing as moderate Islam ", very interesting to listen to this guy and his take on things. Better not say that here. You will be ridiculed and told you have no idea what you are talking about. You will also be told the former Muslim dont know what they are talking either.
July 16, 201610 yr Must be a lot of Muslim backsliders. As far as the attack goes this guy was searching for something. He had a laundry list of personal problems.
July 16, 201610 yr Sure did. Even France has police to react when citizens need protected. What about when police aren't near? We don't have personal police officers, but we do have guns thanks to our constitutional right. One has to wonder if citizens were armed, how many lives would have been saved.
July 16, 201610 yr What about when police aren't near? We don't have personal police officers, but we do have guns thanks to our constitutional right. One has to wonder if citizens were armed, how many lives would have been saved. Who knows? It's total speculation: Maybe none, maybe half, maybe all. Problem with an armed society is maybe you stop that terrorist attack that 1% of a time, but what do you do the other 99% of the time. It is a double edged sword. IMO, France's problem is not the lack of guns it's an underlying animosity with the Muslim world. Something I fear is growing here.
