I think it's a little different if your playing with your kid. Seen a group of at least college aged dudes playing it tonight. Can't fathom playing Pokemon Go at that age. Different generations I guess....

Now see---therein lies the genius of the marketing. Pokemon first came on the scene in 1996. Those kids are now juniors in college. Or try this---if you were 6 in 1996, you are now 26. This Pokemon Go is hitting you in the smack in the heartstrings of childhood memories.

You don't have to be looking at the screen 100% of the time while playing. It will vibrate when one is in range. You can still enjoy the outdoors while walking and playing. Not much different than listening to an iPod.

 

Yep. Or sending a text. Really there's not much reason to have your nose buried in your phone for more than a few seconds at a time.

I heard on the Radio this morning that a Kid ran up around $2000 of In App purchases. Could this be? I have already warned my 2 teens that it's 1 click of the button and it's now a WiFi only High Dollar I-pod with no more I-tunes access.

I guess you're going to have to bully me. Took my 7 year old for a walk around the block when I got home from work to try it out. He thought it was awesome and had a blast.

 

Which I think is awesome. A great tool to spend more time with your kids. A great tool to get 13 year olds outside and more active. I think it's awesome for those reasons.

 

I think it's really weird when 26-35 year olds are playing by themselves and then posting about the newest creature they found on social media.

Man, I'm a 90s kid. I played Pokémon Red/Blue and Yellow. Even Silver and Gold but I couldn't play Go. I played for about 2 hours and it got to boring. It's one of those things that I personally think a month down the road nobody will be talking about.

We realize that many people believe us BGPers to be silly, right? Spending time talking and arguing with people on a message board over sports and politics? People that we often don't know and could be putting in a show?

We all do stuff that others probably think is dumb/dorky/strange. It's whatever.

 

Just cause someone thinks something I enjoy is weird, doesn't mean I think PokemonGo is any less dumb for adults without kids.

Spent an hour plus with the triplets last night playing. Went through the woods on a great hike. Even found that one of our local churches is a Pokestop.
