How do these Pokemon show up at the various sites? Does someone playing the game put them there?

We realize that many people believe us BGPers to be silly, right? Spending time talking and arguing with people on a message board over sports and politics? People that we often don't know and could be putting in a show?

 

 

Exactly. How many times have people on here had to explain that we are paying for a forum whose primary purpose is discussing high school sports among people who do not currently play said sports? Then mention further the intense political debates that happen on here. Yeah that is definitely not nearly as "nerdy" as playing a game on your phone... :walk:

We all do stuff that others probably think is dumb/dorky/strange. It's whatever.

 

Just cause someone thinks something I enjoy is weird, doesn't mean I think PokemonGo is any less dumb for adults without kids.

Why is everyone so sensitive about jokes and opinions regarding this game?

 

You can look all over this site and people make jokes, or post their opinions all the time about music people listen to, shows/movies people enjoy, teams people like, guys that strike out with girls, people's political feelings (often those go too far).

Mostly because it seems to be bringing out of the woodwork the inherent bullying and childishness of middle school. Things like "NEERD!!", "LOSER!!" or "GROW UP!!" annoy me because how is someone enjoying themselves with this any less valid than someone spending hours on end at a computer pouring over statistical analysis for their fantasy teams?

 

 

I find both valid if you wish to do it, I just have gotten to the point in my life that the only thing I really will mock is the vanity of the selfie culture.

Doesn't change that I think a 30 year old without kids playing this game on their own is a dorky thing to do. Just like others out there probably think me playing fantasy football is stupid and a waste of time. Doesn't phase me and I'll keep playing, as will they.

But I would say a good general rule for a grown man if it isn't athletic in nature or have the ability to win money. It's probably for children.

How is this different from playing board games with your kids?
