Seems Obama dodged the question of a hate crime, even though the shooter said what he did.

Obama declined to answer a reporter’s question about whether the Dallas sniper attack w.as a hate crime, saying, “It’s very hard to interpret the motives of this shooter, as we have seen in a host of mass shootings”

Hard to interpret? The idiot said he want to kill white people, white cops then he carried out the killing of white cops. What part of that isn't a hate crime? :ohbrother:

Waiting for someone to explain why Obama can't just admit that this guys motive was to kill as many white police officers as possible...

His struggle to admit the truth in something as glaringly obvious as this makes me think the obvious of him. This is why he's a divider and not a uniter.

President Obama can't win. We complain if he says something too early or we complain if he doesn't come right out and say something. Either way, he is wrong. This guy sounds a lot like a Dylan Roof to me. Mentally unstable.

While I agree both were mentally unstable, I think both were a bit more than that.

Dylann Roof = white racist who wanted to kill blacks.

Micah Johnson = black racist who wanted to kill whites, particularly white cops.

Obama initially on Dylann Roof:

"The fact that this took place in a black church obviously also raises questions about a dark part of our history. This is not the first time that black churches have been attacked. And we know that hatred across races and faiths pose a particular threat to our democracy and our ideals."

Obama initially on Micah Johnson:

"I think it’s very hard to untangle the motives of this shooter, by definition if you shoot people who pose no threat to you, you have a troubled mind."

The motive is clear in this case because the shooter told police.

If a police officer kills a black person he has no problem mentioning race issues in this country.

It doesn't mean that mental instability or PTSD wasn't at the root of the problem.

If he speaks out early, he is criticized. If he doesn't, he is criticized. If he doesn't say specific words, he is criticized. It's just so tiring to me.

Could very well be the root of the problem. However, he was still a racist.

I get your frustration with the president and our comments, but then again, I think it's his fault. He made it clear other times he felt it was about race, was quick to do so. When it's a black man killing because of the color of someone's skin, it becomes "a troubled mind". That's where it gets frustrating to me. In scenarios as this, the criticism is earned.

Agree 100% on all of this!

Possibly war related stress played some role in this? PTSD?

HB20, concerning what I posted about 6pm last night. I was out eating dinner with a few friends discussing a funeral that we are attending this afternoon and two of my friends were black.

They brought up that video that I posted. They were telling me that what they and many black people they know would feel a certain way about an event, in this case their concerns that they are treated differently than white people. They said that when they bring their concerns, and their feelings up, that many white people don't listen to them, that many white people want to give a reason instead of listening.

Forgive me if I didn't saw that as correctly as I should have in this post. But perhaps some of our non-white friends on here can elaborate on this if they could.

I'll post this in a few other forums as well. But, any LEO, over a 1 million of them in the US, should listen to these concerns, AND every citizen needs to listen and see the concerns and the fears (fears of non-whites should be addressed as well) that LEO's have nowadays.

I don't like how on like FB some people where sending out meme's pointing kit how the protesters ran to the officers when the shots started. YES! Of course they did, and I am sure that every single officers that night would have protected any and all of them! That's what they do! Losing 5 people that night was awful, but thankfully there were not more deaths, as it could have been a lot worse.

I'd also like to see the short stories about each of these 5 officers, as well as any account from that night, such as where were they located when they got shot? Were they protecting or covering for citizens? Stories about them and their families.

He should speak out quickly and base his speech on facts and keep it real basic.

He claims a side to quickly and it's put innocent people in danger. Let things play out a little before choosing sides.

I'm honestly tired of everyone that kills people having some mental issue, folks please give that up, our world is full of evil people.

That's because he doesn't say what people want him to say and they are offended by it. You know how folks get offended by everything these days. :D

Isn't Micah Johnson dead?
