Halfway Point - MVP/CY Young

We just hit the halfway point this weekend....

 

Who does everyone have as the front-runner for MVP and CY Young in each league?

 

 

NL MVP: Daniel Murphy, WAS (Kris Bryant is another possibility)

NL CY: Clayton Kershaw, LAD (his injury may cost him by season's end)

AL MVP: Jose Altuve, HOU (Donaldson, Bogartes, Machado, and Trout are all right there as well)

AL CY: Chris Sale, CHW (Hamels and Salazar are just behind IMO)

If it's not Kershaw, I would go with Jake Arrieta. Cueto and Thor in the mix after that.

David Ortiz has to be in the top 3-5 for AL MVP. He's 2nd in batting average, 1st in OBP, 1st in slugging, 1st in on-base plus slugging, 4th in total bases, 1st in doubles, 7th in homers, 2nd in RBIs, 7th in walks and 1st in extra-base hits.

At the halfway point Kershaw has been the best.

And Kershaw is the front runner. His numbers are ridiculous. If he is only on the DL for 15 days he will still be the front runner.

AL CY Young: Michael Fulmer (Has a rookie ever won the CY Young before?)

NL MVP: Daniel Murphy

NL CY Young: Madison Bumgarner (I'm going off the assumption that Kershaw isn't going to return this season)

I think Fernando Valenzuela won the Cy Young and Rookie of the Year in the same year. (Just checked Google after writing and confirmed he is the only one to ever complete that double.)
