The pod system in the NCAA tournament. Loathe it. Tangent to that, the rule that teams from the same conference aren't allowed to play as late as possible.

People that slowly walk 3 abreast down the middle aisle of a parking lot so you have to wait and wait. (Paging @mcpapa----surely you can produce a picture. :lol2:)

People who slowly walk diagonally across the street so you have to wait. (We all know that the diagonal is the shortest distance between two points---NOT the shortest distance across the street.)

People who park their carts in the middle of the aisle while shopping. This most frequently occurs in the cereal aisle---as there are so dang many choices!

Salt on melons is stupid.

GUYS who prefer to shop for lettuce on a beautiful summer day. :lol2:

Salt on melons is stupid.

 If I couldn't put salt on cantaloupe then I probably wouldn't eat it...and I love cantaloupe. Salt brings out the natural sweetness (when ripe).

Guys that smoke those "vapor" devices. It's the dumbest looking thing ever to the point of being irritating. Guy was smoking one at the golf course the other day, had so much white "smoke" around him, his head looked like it was wrapped in toilet paper.

Cigarettes are a given, so I won't talk about them.

@Randy Parker, do you have one of those calendars where you throw away a page each day that has a new thought provoking question on it or something?

Not complaining by the way lol

People who continually sigh louder and louder until you are forced to ask them what's going on.

Nope. It's stupid. :p I feel strongly about this.

No, I just try to post a random Break Room topic to stir discussion.

Jack Daniels is not bourbon and won't touch my lips.

I didn't know this till recently but actually Jack Daniels IS bourbon and pretty much all government regulatory agencies put it in the bourbon category. The only reason Jack does not call itself bourbon is because it wants to stand out from the large bourbon crowd. You may have seen the Billboards which say, "It's not Scotch. It's not Bourbon. It's Jack!". Jack's parent company, Brown Forman, uses its massive industry influence to get the various industry associations to NOT categorize it as a bourbon.

It hits all the qualifications to be labeled bourbon:

- Made in the US

- Made from a grain mixture that is at least 51% corn

- Aged in new, charred oak barrels

- Distilled to no more than 160 (U.S.) proof (80% alcohol by volume)

- Entered into the barrel for aging at no more than 125 proof (62.5% alcohol by volume

- Bottled (like other whiskeys) at 80 proof or more (40% alcohol by volume)

- Aged at least two years to be called straight bourbon.

The fact that the bourbon is coal filtered (called the Lincoln County Process) does not disqualify it as being a bourbon, any of the bourbons could do so if they chose to. Ezra Brooks, Evan Williams Black Label and Jim Beam Choice are all coal filtered and are all straight bourbon.

Dash the government. If it ain't from Kentucky, it ain't bourbon as far as I'm concerned.
