I'm basically a self taught swimmer, but have never considered myself a very good swimmer. Adequate enough to get around in a pool, but if I were dumped in the river or perhaps the middle of a lake I think that I'd be in big trouble.

Also, I've always been envious of those who can dive head first so naturally into a pool. I've never once done that and the fear of trying stifles me.

The bolded. I cannot dive at all. My daughter was on swim teams for years and I was always in awe of her perfect dive at the start of every race.

I can't swim, I can't whistle, and I can't throw involuntarily.

I peaked at 16. I could do almost anything off a low (real low; 1-meter - fear of heights kept me off anything else) board. Double gainer, inward 1-1/2, 2-1/2 somersault; just about anything except the complicated spinning dives. Just kinda learned on my own. Couldn't really swim until about the 5th grade, but wound up as a lifeguard most summers from age 16 to 22.

Never was much at dancing; I guess that might qualify for this thread.

I was trying to teach Junior Parker how to whistle the other day, but she just can't get it yet. Conversely, she can do something like roll her R's, but I can't do that at all.

I see Randy on the right.

I can't swim, I can't whistle, and I can't throw involuntarily.

I'm still trying to figure out how you would throw anything involuntarily. Please explain.

That made me do a double-take as well.

Remembering first names of people I meet. I even forget the techniques to learn how to remember first names.

This would be me. Horrible

Throw up. Sorry. Can't throw up without forcing myself.

I generally introduce myself and tell that person I won't remember their name and to not take it personal. I'm awful at names.

You know how some people can get in a pool and cup their hands together and shoot a little fountain of water out? I can't do that.

I can whistle a tune very well, but can't make that loud attention-getting shrieking whistle.

My Wife and kids can do this, but I cannot.

I can't either.

Either you can or you can't, but I don't think that it can be learned.

snap my fingers...

I was coming here to post that I can snap my fingers on my right hand, but not the left, but it would appear you've one-upped me.

I can't either.

Holy Cow!! I just tried to whistle and couldn't! I used to be able to do it with no problem. I also used to be able to whistle through my front teeth when I was younger. Can we loose our whistling abilities? Man, I'm getting old and decrepit!
