Love the sinner, hate the sin.

No problem with anything in his statement.

Ahhhh, how pious of the Pope calling out ALL Christians (see the funny I made there;)). As for THIS particular Christian, I have never been untoward to any homosexual person based on their sexuality, and treat the few that I know/have had interaction with just like I do anyone else. Are there SOME Christians who have said/done some mean spirited, nasty, un-Christian like things and should be ashamed and apologize? Sure, like the video's that were posted showing some "preachers" spouting downright hate, and anyone of like mind. And if the Pope had said "some" Christians in his remark, I would agree. But someone being homosexual does not make me think less of them or ill of them (regardless if I agree with them or not), and quite frankly I take a little offense with the Pope lumping myself, and many many others that I know and I'm sure millions that I don't know, onto his "list".

Funny how everyone calls out Christians over the gay issue but never any other religion.. Gays are put to death in other countries and no one seems to care..

Anyone that I have offended in the past I am sorry. Now I should be good with the Pope, Jesus and Santa Clause!

My guess is Francis is primarily pointing the finger of the Catholic Church's past treatment of gays. A common punishment for gays by civil authorities in centuries past unfortunately quietly accepted by the Catholic Church was ramming a steel poker which had been in an blacksmith oven up the homosexual's anus. While an effective deterrent to sodomy, and embarrassing scar on the church.

Is alcoholism a condition? A choice? How about pedophilia? I could go on, but I won't. The lines are clearly drawn already.

Agreed.

Are we equating homosexuality with pedophilia? Really?

No, pick one you like better. How about adulterers? Is that soft enough? How about pansexuals? Just asking. I know where you stand and know you won't change your opinion. Just making the same tired point I always make. You can insert one you like, my argument is the same. I have no issue with what the pope said either.

I'll admit I had to look that one up. Still not sure that I understand what it means as it sounds like being bi-sexual to me.
