Speaking from a cold analytical perspective, I find it interesting. If you are alienating voting blocks that's not going to vote for you anyway, but in the process you are stimulating the vote from your base, the net consequence could be positive at the polls.

 

I'm not condoning this practice, but from an intellectual perspective, we have not seen anything like this in American Politics. Trump disseminates a lot of ethnic messages, but in his personal and business life, I don't see a pattern of ethnic bias. Trump hires and promotes minorities regularly.

 

The only thing that comes close is the candidacy of George Wallace, who was a self proclaimed racist.

The foolishness with the judges this week would've been so easy to avoid -- or at least to clean up. Instead he doubled down. I just don't know what he's thinking at any given moment.

Exactly I saw one of the interviews and I couldn't for the life of me figure out why he was saying what he was saying, paraphrasing... "He's a Mexican and I'm building a wall...I'm building a wall...I'm building a wall and he's Mexican, that's why he doesn't like me"

The race is all about Trump. Not much else matters ... certainly not the VP choices, whoever they might be. Even Mrs. Clinton's problems pale in comparison to Trump's defects. I get the feeling that Trump has played most of the cards in his deck. I struggle to see how he can attract more voters. He's gotten all the voters he's going to get.

I have never thought Trump came across as very intelligent...now he seems to be verifying those beliefs.

 

I'm so torn I don't know what to do. How this guy got the Rep vote I'll just never know.

This Race will come down to which candidate in the end, that the public trust more and likes more...they have 5 months to court the American Public.

I've heard that but it really would make no sense. Very little upside and if it ever got out he's put his own life in danger from some nut.

Trump's continuous alienating statements are moving him into a place that I think even he will not be able to overcome - his mental stability and competence to be president. People want the system shook up but they want to have confidence that you won't go over the cliff. Trump is creating concern even among those who want to support him about whether he can handle the job

Not solely. But significantly.

I'm thinking all Hillary has to do is play "rope-a-dope" and Trump will punch himself out all on his own.
