I personally thought the results in Boone, Kenton, and Campbell County were promising for Kasich and what he could do in Ohio next week.

I assumed that's what we were talking about. What other Washington corruption would there be these days?

Would you say that a business person giving money to senate or congressional races would be any different than a local businessmen supporting the local mayor or councilman in an election?

 

I agree there needs to be campaign finance reform, but it will never happen because the people that have to pass it would be the ones getting cut out. Just like why we'll never have congressional or senate term limits, they aren't going to legislate themselves out of a job.

I don't disagree; I just think it's funny to think that Trump, who admits that he's been the one with the purse buying influence, is somehow therefore above all this. More of the same but with a man who doesn't care what any of us actually thinks of him.

It blows my mind that Cruz is even in this thing. More than Trump...well almost. Trump appeals to some base ideas and when people struggle they subscribe to them. People believe Bernie represents some similarly base ideas. For the record both are carrying about the same percentage of the vote.

 

Trump's views are getting over played and people are starting to see there isn't a lot behind his plans. In fact recently some of his more popular plans have had holes poked in them: the wall to name one. This will probably continue, but it may be too late if Rubio doesn't get out. IMO Kasich is the only one who can unite enough of the uncertain vote to dethrone Trump.

 

While I enjoy what Trump is doing to the party, I really hate what he and Mitt stand for as candidates: Rich men who decide to run because they can fund their campaign. That is a slippery slope we go down. We are already down the slope of being bought but at the very least that includes everyone. If our political offices become opportunities only for those who can afford to supplement their own runs our nation truly has reverted back to feudalism.

I guess they have voting 'machines' working today.

The point I'm at right now, is that even if I agree more with one of the others, I'd rather have someone in the position who can act like an adult. I get it, you can be passionate, you can be angry, you can be concerned...but, you don't have to behave like a horse's rear-end in doing it. With the others, it's become a three ring circus.

Kasich finishing #2 in Michigan it looks like. Rubio dropping quickly, needs to save his future and drop out as soon as the Florida results come out. I only say that because he won't drop out before then.

I would say that last night's results show that it is too late to stop the runaway Trump train. Every time Romney, Rubio, etc. blast Trump, he just gains steam. I'm not sure if Hillary can beat him either.
