To reinforce just how much this championship belongs the Breds:

All season long the top 4 teams in the discussion have been NewCath, Cooper, Holy Cross and CovCath.

To prove their worth the Breds since Friday went head to head with each one of those teams and knocked off Cooper, Holy Cross, and then CovCath.

They didn't rely on any other team to knock out any of the other top teams in the region. They, one by one took care of that business all by themselves leaving no doubt who was Number 1

LIKE

Ben Weyer - 66 points, 40+ rebounds, and 20+ blocks in the tourney.

What region are they gonna see in Lexington?

Fresh out of the gate they get the 7th Region winner which will be decided tomorrow night between Trinity and St. Xavier.

No small task.

Congrats to Coach Dawn, the staff, and especially the players you have made the NewCath faithful proud.

My goodness. That's the last region I wanted to see.

Same as 2000.

You can say CVH v Weyer was a wash. The difference in the game was B Hall. Kid is smooth. CCH had no second option. Ballgame.

Without question.......played the 1st 3:53 of the 1st quarter, then picked up foul #2 and didn't return for the rest of the 1st quarter and ALL of the 2nd quarter!!!!

Big shout out to Brian and Erik Anderson on one hell of a defensive effort tonight, well done guys. :ylsuper:

If my kid can not win the region tourney, I am sure glad that kids he grew up playing with did. Congrats to Ben Weyer and Austin Neff along with the other Breds players and coaches on a job well done.

Biggest win in school history?

Ron thinks so.

NewCath downs CovCath for region title

It would take historians to say whether 54 or 66 played a better team to win the region. Mr. Dawn was on the 3 peat group in the 70s, so if he says this was bigger than any win they had, then it would be hard to disagree right? First hand knowledge of his bball caliber is hard to question.

No matter who they play, I hope NCC takes a beating in the first round. Cheering for whoever they play against.

Hall had 9 in the 3rd and 5 in the 4th including a HUGE 3 from the corner.

Weyer had 7 in the 1st, 6 in the 2nd, 6 in the 3rd, and 3 in the 4th.

CVH led all scorers with 25. 11 in the 2nd, 9 in the 3rd, and 6 in the 4th.

I am pretty sure neither team had any points from the bench.

I agree with you. I only wish that Cooper was 100% healthy for regionals. They were really a shell of themselves during their game with New Cath. These injuries really did hamper them and throw them out of sync. McNeil had 4 days of practice and Kunkel was really hobbled by his thigh injury along with Hendrix being out.

Please don't read to much into this B-Ball-Fan. I know you have to play with what you got and circumstances. If Cooper had to lose to a team I'm glad it was to New Cath. because I really like and respect Coach Dawn.

I know B-Ball-Fan, you want to tell me that New Cath's defense is what made Cooper out of sync. You may be right. I just keep thinking of what might have been.

See, I'm trying to be more thoughtful in my posts for you.....Ha Ha!!!

Congrats to New Cath. WIN STATE!!!!!!!
