B. Hall is more important than B. Weyer for the breds IMO

You're going to need to expound on this one. NCC can't without Weyer having a big game.

For all of the pregame talk about these two teams not liking each other and not shaking hands the last time they played, this game was the complete opposite. Two teams that played hard while maintaining great sportsmanship. That reflects the character of both schools and their coaches. There were some other schools in this tournament that could learn a few things from these two teams. Respect is earned and these two teams did just that last night. Congrats to Coach Dawn and Coach Ruthsatz for controlling their kids. Two solid coaches and two fine schools.

This game came down to Hall. Weyer was going to get his and the Breds needed another player to step up. Hall answered the bell and played beyond his years. Weyer is Weyer. The player of the year always seems to shine in this game every year and he did not disappoint. I think we got a very good look at next year's player of the year in Von Handorf. He is a special player. Von Handorf and Sean McNeil will be two that I'm really excited to watch next year.

Lol. Wow

I hate to be a Debbie Downer but this needs to be said, IMO.

To the mom sitting court side last night who I could see from across the court talking trash to the Colonel Crazies and flipping them off after the game - please stop. You are an embarrassment to the NCC community. I can't believe Ronny Dawn puts up with those antics from a parent. It is shameful for a grown woman to act that way towards high school kids.

The wonderful thing about the good 'ole USA - we are all entitled to have and express our opinions - however wrong they may be.

That seems extreme. Really blonde hair?

That's why I asked for some reasoning. Has to be something other than how it sounds.

We saw the same thing and were talking about. That lady has some serious issues.

Yep.

I am with you "Debbie".... I was sitting just a few rows behind this "lady"... yes, I am using it loosely.

If she is a mother to one of the players, or affiliated with NCC, I feel bad for them, she was a total embarrassment. I did not notice the Crazies doing, or directing, anything towards her... they may have but I sure did not see it. I found it quite comical that they were the mature ones and did not get sucked into her antics, they actually started laughing at her and from time to time, they did mimic some of her actions.

IMO... If they feel the need to send Security your way, for a little chat, you might want to rethink your conduct. As for your actions after the contest, not what I would call a gracious winner... or a "lady".

That seems extreme. Really blonde hair?

If you were as close as I was... you would probably say it was not "real" blonde hair. :sneaky:

Congrats to the breds for finally getting the monkey off their back! So happy for them! And seeing jimmy Pangallo celebrate brought chills up my spine. Not many people realize what that man does for that school. He is a class act and a great human being. So happy for him!

Like some have mentioned, the huge adjustment in this game was New Cath going to the zone at about the 5 minute mark in the 4th. At that time CVH had gotten to the rim on a few possessions in a row and it looked like Coach R was going to be content putting it in his hands with a high ball screen to generate offense for the rest of the game. The zone put those thoughts to bed and made it extremely difficult for CC to get any good looks. The first possession after NCC switched to zone lasted about 1:15 before Cov Cath got a look. Great adjustment by Coach Dawn and the staff.

Also, B Hall was phenomenal in the 2nd half. The only player CC had that I thought was even capable of guarding him was CVH, but they had to put him on Weyer for most of the game. After Hall took it hard to the basket for a bucket early in the 3rd, you could see his confidence start to pick up and then he was un-guardable.

Great game to watch if you had no rooting interest. Feel bad for #1 for CC, had some really good looks and just couldn't get anything to fall.

Ben Weyer was just a man last night. CVH did a pretty good job of slowing him down for a stretch, but he was just too much to handle in the end. For those saying that Weyer didn't have a "dominant" game against Cooper I have to ask what game were you watching? Although he wasn't quite as brilliant as he was last night, he continually made huge plays every time Cooper would make a run to close the gap. EVERY time Cooper got close Weyer either pulled down a big rebound or hit a shot to stop the bleeding. He was everything he was advertised to be in this tournament. He is easy to root for and I , for one, am glad and proud that he is representing the 9th region as player of the year.

Congrats to Cov Cath and NCC on great seasons and good luck to the Breds next week, hopefully they bring home the title!

The bottom line last night is that Ncc had help scoring besides Weyer, (who was in beast mode). Cov Cath, besides CVH just couldn't make a shot. I have seen Polar votexs warmer than the rest of CCH offensively, outside of CVH that was keeping them in the game in the second half. I was surprised at the end of the game that CCH didn't put the ball in CVH hands every time to try in score. Possibly he was running on fumes at that point, don't know, but he played a heck of a game.

As far as the block total on Weyer, it was posted he had 7. The only thing I can think of is they quit counting after 7. I didn't count them, but it sure seemed more like 10 or better. He was serving out more stuffing than grandma at Thanksgiving. Good luck to the Bred's at Rupp, and bring the gold back to the 9th region!

I may be off a bit but I think the other 4 were a combined 8/32.
