Mr. Basketball... Who you got?

Featured Replies

I assume the McDonald All-American game nominees are selected by a national panel. The list came out several weeks ago. Goodin was the only one nominated from KY. He was not selected for the game.

He is ranked in the Top 100 in the country in all publicated list. This is done by ESPN, rivals, etc scouting the players throughout their AAU and high school careers.

Thank you for the information. I was not aware of how that process worked. Unfortunate for Carson Williams.

I did not know this either. It seems strange a state's top player would not be the one nominated, but thank you for the information.

You havnt been to Carsons game this year then. Improved a lot on his mid game really good now! 3 point is getting better! But you know when he can take on 4 people in the paint why not just dunk on people! That's why he is that best player in the state again 6'6 yes but he works so hard & so strong! You're just hater.. Prob because Carson schooled you're team. Get out of here! Give him his credit he deserves

My team has won back to back to back All A State championships. Monroe County beat your team last year in semis and my team beat Monroe by 50 pts in finals. Lol

Carson Williams will be playing college and later pro basketball one day, also possibly a McDonald's All-American next month, while others only connection to McDonald's will be serving french fries.

Professional basketball? Are you serious right now?

Yes, he will play pro basketball one day. Whether in the NBA or overseas, you can count on it. I notice every one of your posts is negative about Carson. An axe to grind?

And while Carson is playing Division I basketball, your player is going to Bellarmine. So what?

He is big, strong, athletic, runs the court well, and his shooting is improving. By the time he leaves college five years from now you will be singing a different tune. And McDonald's will probably have a different meaning for you by that time as well, if I were to guess the future. lol

I have nothing against him. He's really a joy to watch. I think he deserves Mr. Basketball. But there's too many people on here talking him up to be something that he's not. Yes he's a great HS basketball player. IMO he will be a great fit at NKU. Will he dominate in college? No. Do I think that he will play professional basketball? No. That's just my opinion. But like I said before, he's one of the most entertaining HS players in the state, if not the most entertaining. He's for sure top 3 in the state. But you guys are really blowing him out of proportion.

No, we are just talking about a great player. I am an Oldham County person and root for all three of those schools, but I respect what Owen County is doing. If/When South/Oldham/North plays Owen County, I always pull for my schools. But it would be silly not to recognize what a tremendous player Carson Williams is.

Just for the record this thread was started for people to give their Top 3 Mr. Basketball Candidates and then tell who they thought would win.

Just a fun prediction after the KABC Region POY were announced. It's gotten a bit out of hand, and some people are choosing to be negative and derogatory toward others. Be positive about who you think deserves to win and don't say negative things about other players.

TOP 3

Faulkner - Williams - Goodin

2016 KY Mr. Basketball- Carson Williams

Anthony Hickey Jr. Won it that year and Scotty Hopson didn't win it either.

When Christian County wins the state title Tyrik Edwards will win Mr. Basketball as always basketball in Western Kentucky is ignored.
