where's this thread you speak of...only one I know of says he was offered! I will gladly tell that to any of the NKU coaches(but they already know) but most D1 current and previous coaches don't waste their time on these silly threads...except maybe you

I'm saying it was his first offer and he never accepted it. He was a junior and had much interest expressed. He hadn't even visited any campuses and no deadline was given.

Laughable. NKU while in Division II owned Bellarmine if you bother looking at the al-time series record. I posted it to you yesterday but the technical problems erased it. My buddies who talk with the NKU coaches also said Pitino and Cronin play Bellarmine in exhibitions because of their relationship with Bellarmine's coach, not because it is competitive. The Bellarmine coach used to be an assistant at U of L, but he can not get a Division I head coaching job even though he has repeatedly tried.

 

Bellarmine from what I saw has lost to the likes of Midwestern State (!?), Drury (!?), Findlay, Parkside (!?), and you are saying they are going to beat Division I schools? As a former assistant coach in Division I, it sounds to me as if you have an axe to grind with NKU. I have no dog in the fight, but there is a huge difference in Division I athletes and those who sign out of high school with D-2. As I said yesterday, NAIA rosters have more athletes than Division II rosters in may cases. Many of the players we recruited did not qualify academically for NCAA play and had to go to the NAIA, an they were much better than the kids who signed with D-2. Now a transfer from D-1 who goes to D-2, yes, they might make a difference in talent levels. But not straight from high school.

Not that you bother reading my posts carefully, but I have friends who know the NKU coaches. I KNOW NOTHING ABOUT THEM OTHER THAN WHAT THEY SAY. I don't need to earn any "cred" as you phrased it, I coached many years in college and high school. You act as if you are some expert when most of your points are wrong and laughable. My ignore feature will be used on you. Thank you.

READ thru the posts - NO WHERE does it say Ben accepted the offer! I said earlier we assumed that when new coaches came to NKU that if they wanted him they would offer. They did not - which is fine. NKU is too close to home for Ben. He wants that away from home college experience and had plenty of schools to choose from. He chose Bellarmine and is excited about the chance to play for Coach Davenport and the team. I couldn't care less where it was as long as He is happy and getting a good education that he won't have to struggle to pay for!!!!

Do you guys understand what offers really are? Offers are sometimes legit, sometimes they are favors to AAU programs or scouts, and sometimes they are completely made up by players.

No college coach or program is going to come out a publicly and say that an offer is not valid. Also an offer does not mean the school will take a commitment. There is a lot to this game that is played.

 

Also with a new coach he does not have to hold an offer but most will not pull offers they will meet with the player and his family and let him know why the school no longer is a good choice.

 

The game of recruiting is all PR.

Oh, my! Now your sources are friends of yours that are friends of the coaches. I thought your mega-strong pontifications were first hand knowledge and not third party hearsay. I now know the "no cred earned" was more accurate than even anticipated.
