Serious question, and I ask more because of his son being a senior than anything else, but will Rod Snapp be coaching at Newport next year? Any thoughts?

No idea, but I've said all year....Coach Snapp has the toughest job in the state dealing with all the issues he's had to deal with this season.

he can coach. Deserves a chance somewhere he could thrive.

Coach Snapp will be back. His other son is in the 7th grade I believe. I don't see him leaving anytime soon. He loves it at Newport and loves his job, regardless of how tough it is.

Ethan will be playing college ball just a couple of hours up the road. Tough decision to continue coaching at the high school level or do the road trips to watch Ethan at the next level.

Think Coach Snapp does a really good job in an extremely difficult environment.

I've thought about this statement from you above for a bit and I am probably in the minority but I don't agree. Sure its tough, but no tougher than other public schools. You set rules and paramaters of how you want your program run. If there is a mess then it is because you like it that way and put up with it.

So Dixie, Simon Kenton, Lloyd, Beechwood, etc are all just as difficult as Newport? I don't buy it and neither do you.

I joke around with coach Snapp's antics on the sidelines, but I agree, he does a great job with all he has to deal with. I applaud his efforts and think it says a lot about the man if decides to continue coaching at Newport.

That is a shame for the Wildcats. This late in the season is not the time to have drama occurring for a team. I did not realize there was a second key player missing. Could be an opportune time for the Bellevue Tigers to pull off a surprise in the district against Newport and get to the 9th Region tournament.

This is not a new situation...someone just finally said enough, been going on all year. Anyone familiar with any of this that didn't see this coming....keep looking down that tunnel

We're ignoring the big question, did Wiggins finally get the minutes he deserves? Don't understand why coach Snapp isn't using such a quality player!

There was not even a Wiggins listed on Newport's roster.

It is a shame that Coach Snapp will have limited time. But perhaps he has kids on the bench that will now become prominent participants who have bought in to the TEAM concept the entire season, and now have the opportunity to show that.

I'm sure those players have lesser skill sets, but perhaps they display the qualities that allow "lesser" teams to succeed. We see it all the time .. "how did that team do it?". I'm rooting for Coach Snapp and his team .. I hope they surprise some people. Now wouldn't that be a great story.

Its been going on all year.
